Two Robeson PocketEze 633594 Stockmen
Two Robeson PocketEze 633594 Stockmen
Here are two Robeson PocketEze 633594 premium stockmen. I have had the bottom pictured one for a few years but recently acquired the top one. The primary differences in the two are three fold: 1. The shield on the top one is the less seen double bomb shield, 2. The double bomb shield has a more scratch or claw bone type jigging while the bottom one is what I would call divot bone jigging (reminiscent of the bone jigging seen on NYKC knives after the pick bone style and before the peach seed jigging), 3. And finally the tang stamp third line on the top one is U.S.A. and the bottom one Rochester. Both are large stockman models and measure 3 & 7/8 inches closed.
I think the top one U.S.A. Is earlier than the Rochester one. Charlie what do you think?
Thanks for looking

Pocketeze + etch + stockmen + Robinson bone. Just doesn't get any better. Great pieces

I agree with the others. Those are excellent!

Lloyd, very nice.
Assuming both knives have ROBESON / ShurEdge as the top two lines in their tang stamps, the U.S.A. knife dates 1916 - 1939 and the ROCHESTER knife 1922 -1939, so there is some overlap.
I have always thought the double bomb PocketEze shield to precede the oval.
I cannot speak to the bone jigging differences as to dating as I don't have enough information.
