Very nice Benchmades, Gino I always liked the 707's. The axis-lock is a work of art. I carry the mini-grip alot, It's small, light and has really good steel on this one (M4).

Paul, Great looking knives! What is the second one down?
Archer, I was looking at the mini Grip also but decided to go with the Sequel. How do you like the mini grip?

Re: SHARE YOUR BENCHMADES
Gino,
Out of all the modern type knives I have I seem to carry the mini-grip the most. I suppose its because the size and weight is perfect for my everyday chores. You now can order one from the Benchmade site with premium steel and colors of your choice. If I need a larger blade I carry the Kulgara, that is the smoothest benchmade I have ever handled and only weighs 3oz. giving you a 3.5" blade.

Nice ones!
Paul, I may have the older cousin to your auto there.
I don't guess you can tell which ones I carry.
Look at the chips on the top blade, that's 154CM......................brittle stuff, but I still like it.

Re: SHARE YOUR BENCHMADES
I don't have a ton of Benchmade knives, but I do have some that are fantastic users.
This is my first Benchmade, circa 1989; I don't remember the date for sure. but it was an early one, made when they were still in Clackamas.
It is a Walter Brend design. This was in the time when I was managing a cutlery store and was in the Benchmade shop as often as I could manage to pick up knives or to have coffee & cigars with Les & Jody Sampson. Al Mar and Les were good friends, (incidentally Al Mar once told me that Benchmade was the only American company who Al trusted enough to have them make a knife for Al Mar Knives. They made some autos for Al).
One day we were talking about AL Mar and I told Les that my Al Mar number was 043. Not that I bought anywhere close to all of them, but I had right of first refusal on all the new Al Mar patterns at the pre-release.
Then Les was telling me about this new knife they were coming out with that was designed by Walter Brend, I told him I wanted one. He said he would save one of the first ones for me.
I didn't think much about it until one day I got a call that the knives were ready, so I went by their shop to pick it up along with an order for the stores.
Les said, "This one is special for you, I put your Al Mar number on it."
So that is why you can see the 0043 above Brend’s etch.
(The scratches on the handle are actually on my scanner, not the knife).
This next knife is also an early one, made before 1992 when I got out of the cutlery business. It may be the first Benchmade knife pattern to be made with ATS-34, if not the very first, certainly one of the first few designs made in ATS-34.
This is a used & abused Benchmade auto. My stepson was working for the City of Salem helping in supervising an inmate landscaping crew. One of the inmates found the knife beside a road or in a City Park. My stepson brought it home to me and I cleaned it up. It works great and fires hard!
One of my favorite EDC knives is this Mini Griptilian. I love the Axis Lock. I wish more companies used it. It is a great lock!

Re: SHARE YOUR BENCHMADES
I think the my next Benchmade will be a plain edge full size Griptilian.
I would like to find one in S30V or VG-10 if they make them.

Re: SHARE YOUR BENCHMADES
Has anyone seen the new benchmade TAILOUT?? Its a traditional folder lockblade. It also is back ordered from the company so I did pre order one today. It kind of looks like a thin version of a Buck 110. It looks pretty interesting to me and I hope the Benchmade quality is there. I would be interested to hear from anyone that has one or ordered one. I will be sure to show some pics and give a review when I get it.

Re: SHARE YOUR BENCHMADES
Fantastic knives, Benchmade sure has the quality and good designs to boot. Heres my EDC, an HK made by Benchmade. Machined G10 handles, axis lock, 2.95" drop point blade, good clip, 154CM Stainless, It wouldn't have looked much different if I'd gotten to design it myself.

That logo looks like Lone Wolf.
Is that one of their new ones since Benchmade bought Lone Wolf?
