As a reminder to myself that the (now online) factory second sale was today, I carried my Dragonfly 2. I jetissioned the other two earlier this afternoon. Did some testing today with them. They are Czech-made Mikov. Good for the prices I paid, but most certainly, quality-wise they are no SAKs, and certainly not Spyderco.

Thanks to the factory sale, I (in addition to two Ladybugs, a Harpy, this Dragonfly, and a Byrd Cara Cara 2 Rescue), I now will soon have a Para 3, Native 5, and a Byrd Robin 2 as well; for much less than the Para 3 is alone as a normal model, and at average online prices.

Native 5 base model, combo edge. I wanted one of these way back when I started getting into Spyderco, but couldnt' see paying over $105 for a knife. Got it on the seconds sale for $35.The only problem is some slightly crooked milling of the thumb ramp. CPM-S35VN is much, much better steel than anything else in my collection. Tough and wear-resistant, and holds an edge much longer than 440C and 154CM, and is better for getting a good edge than D2. It's light too, which makes it a lot easier to carry. I did some hiking in the woods today, and happened upon a really messed up section of fence, and I had to cut a stick to make a temporary post. The Native did the heavy cutting comfortably and quickly.

Did that knife come from Spyderco already engraved, or was that done aftermarket ?

First time my newest addition to my collection Spyderco Tasman Salt 2 got out for a walk. My second Spiderco, great knife overall and also my first Japan made knife and I've heard they make their knifes sharp and yes that's a sharp knife. I'm not the biggest Spyderco fan but local vendor hasn't failed yet when I've asked for a good knife on some price range for me to buy. Oh and still going to do lanyard to it when I can decide what kind of.

It always hurts to misplace a knife. I hope you find it soon.

Yeah I hope it has dropped on my front yard when I've been doing snow work, gotta wait couple months since there is sooo much snow. Good that it's Tasman Salt which is specially made to use in wet places so it wont get corrosion under snow.
