American Military Supply Corp. New York sword

Post by OLDE CUTLER »

Maybe there are some collectors who have some expertise with swords that can shed some light as to what this is and approx. when it was made. The marking is American Military Supply Corp., New York, Made in Germany. It is 36 and 1/2 inches in length overall. On the back is what appears to be the star of David with the word "PROVED" in the center of the star. There are various other engravings on it as the photos show. Crossed cannons, Federal eagle, US, cannons and flags, and lots of floral patterns. The handguard has sustained some damage by being somewhat crushed and there is a small break in the handguard. It must have been for ceremonial purposes as there is no edge whatso ever on it. There is no scabbard along with it.
