VES veterans evaluation services
VES veterans evaluation services
Any body else dealing with this ??
Re: VES veterans evaluation services
I am not sure what you mean when you say "dealing with this?"
I have never heard of Veterans Evaluation Services before, so I searched it online. It is not part of the VA, it is a owned by Maximus. Their homepage says "A Maximus Company."
Just a quick look at their website it appears they are a for-profit company that helps people with their VA claims, including medical exams.
All I know of VES is from that quick search. It could be that they are an authorized entity contracted by the VA to provide services to veterans, or they could be a private company who are providing services to veterans for a fee. That kind of makes me leery of them given my background in Veteran Services for the state of Oregon.
Again, I know nothing of the company or their relationship with the VA. However if I were feeling uncomfortable with them and the things they are asking me to do, especially if they are asking for payment from me, or if they are asking for a percentage of any service connected disability award i may get, I would contact the Department of Veterans Affairs directly and ask them if I have to work through this company.

Re: VES veterans evaluation services
Heres what I have gathered.
VA uses contractors due to their patient poad and the VA providers are limited as to how mant patients they can see per day. yep, must be unionized? Audiology can see 6 per day! I had to go 40 miles as per directions sent to me. A real backwoods way of getting to the location specified. An empty store front with a desk , chair and computer for the receptionist( who drove 4 hours to this location). the interviewer had a used desk, chair and fold up cot exam table, he drove from Virginia!. I was asked 5 questions total and told I could go. The VA is sending me a check for $36 for gas, 80 mile roumd). Actually we returned home by a much simpler route. VA requires these THINGS every so often. If ya fail to comply, you could lose your DAV benefits. I am rated 100%+. Which is a fair piece of change I dont want to reliquish! T top it off, the med tech was Chinese. I dont like to pigeon hole people but it added to my speculations of a Chinese spy thing. The girl in the office helped clear all of my misgivings as well as a call to VA Thanks Orvet for your input.
