Walk yer Dogs

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

I just acquired my first KA-BAR “dog head”: a nice stag folding hunter, much like in previous posts, with both blades stamped.
My question is regarding the shield itself. There appears to be two different “dog shields”. One has a curved front ear-margin. The other type has a “straight” front ear-margin.
I’m a dog head “novice”. Experts please comment.
Thanks.

The answer can be found here: https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kn ... d#p1027909

You can find this and other info by using the keyword search capability. Search for ‘doghead”. ::tu::

Great looking knife Rich. I wish I bought more of them when they were easily available and affordable. I only have one.

A, '' 3 Dog night ''. The hobo is a Union Cutlery. Note the absence of the KA-BAR lettering on the collar.
