A spotted sheath

Post by Rockingkj »

I hang out with the Blackpowder crowd and my likes tend to have that mountain man / Native American look. Found this interesting handmade knife and made a sheath for it. Decorated with nickel colored “spots”.

You can always get more money, good old knives are hard to find.

Nature abhors a vacuum, me I hate a dull knife.

Always like to see new looks and ways of doing things! Curios do the tabs that hold the spots hit the knife at all inside the sheath or did you line it ?

I did not line the sheath so the tabs can certainly touch the blade. On this particular project was not too concerned with that. Actually doubt the folded prongs would leave a mark on the blade, might on the handle. Some are rivets that go though the back side which serve as protection of the stitching as a welt would.

Appreciate the response. I figured at most that inner row might have an affect. Just something I think about when i make sheaths. When using a sam brown stud or snap i worry it will scratch something! Keep making!!
