Some SRKs from Cold Steel. Good usable knives and not too expensive for the quality you get. My buddy MTC, lived in Alaska, Arizona, Wyoming, and Montana and loved the older Carbon V models for outdoor carry. A strong thick blade makes this model a real work horse. I have found some older used ones for sale for around $100. I think that's a good value for a SRK knife.

Found this Cold Steel Swift in a used car trade in. I have seen Cild Steel knives for years and didn’t figure it to be worth much but it looks like the fetch around $100+ on eBay.

Not gonna lie, I've always been a bit skeptical on Cold Steel. But I picked up a Kobun about a year ago because I thought it looked kinda neat and different... and let's be honest, it was dirt cheap.

Unfortunately, I lost it before I was able to use it much. So I never really got an opportunity to change my stance on CS. But this past weekend, I found another Kobun which looked even cooler and again the price was right. Now after giving Google the Ol college try, I haven't been able to find much on this guy. It's an American made Kobun with Carbon V steel.

What do yall think?

Gringo, I have a variety of CS knives. I appreciate the practicality and creativity that goes into so many of their patterns. Unfortunately, I do not have a Kobun thus no comment on it. However, perhaps you would share your evaluation after you have some experience with it.

Yes sir.
My initial assessment is as follows:

Pros: Looks good. I've always liked tanto blades for some reason.
It is razor sharp.
Feels good in the hand.
The coating looks (and feels) like it can take a beating.

Cons: The guard could be bigger and more durable.
The sheath is set up for left handed carry (or inverted, or horizontal behind the back) maybe this can be altered?
Possibly my biggest concern is the fairly light retention of the sheath.

I'll report back once it's been put to use. Or I may just flip it if I can't find a practical home for it in the truck or go bag.

No, this was made by Queen in 2018. Limited edition of 600 pieces (mine #125).

I have 5 Cold Steel knives. At an earlier point in time, I think that they were a great bang for the buck. As time passed I think that they became less of a good value. As Cold Steel is now I have no interest in them. But for a time they were pretty cool!

I was a HUGE Cold Steel enthusiast back in the 80's and 90's. According to some research: Some knives were made in the U.S. by Camillus using a carbon steel called "Carbon V"1. Cold Steel had an interesting business model where Camillus Cutlery Company manufactured their knives in the U.S., while Cold Steel distributed and marketed the knives. Cold Steel manufactured the rest of its knives in Seki, Japan.

I feel back in those days the value was really awesome and they were "on the cutting edge" of a new market; new designs, new materials, great quality and value for the dollar. As time went on, I moved on to other brands BRKT, BKT, Strider, GEC, Case XX, ::hmm:: I guess over time your tastes change.

My only Cold Steel is this one which was sold as a throwing knife without a sheath. It makes a darn tough general purpose knife too as it is 10 and 3/4 inch overall and the blade is .215 inch thick. It is the only knife I own with a cord wrap handle, so I'm not sure how that would hold up. I bought it years ago at a gun show for $15.

I had one years ago and it made an excellent tough general-purpose knife. It was a great value for the 💵💰💵💰 ::nod:: You got a great piece there O.C. and just pocket change (nowadays at least) into buying it.
