Good Sunday morning and Happy Fathers Day to all you Dads. Nothing planned for today after church. Yesterday afternoon one of our grand daughters took us out to lunch for my birthday. I sure am grateful to God for giving me 77 years, 55 years married to my wife, 3 sons, 2 daughters and tons of grandkids and great grand kids and then I get to sit in my living room and have coffee with you guys. Life is good. ____Dave

Mornin' Y'all

Coming at ya live from Cocoa Beach, FL. Got in at 8:00 last night, so 12 hours in the road. Stopped off to visit our buddy in Albany, I-75 was backed up several miles north of Gainesville and a rain storm. But we made it safely.

Went down a bit ago for the motel breakfast, which wasn't half bad, good coffee.
We'll piddle around here today until Wanda gets in this evening sometime. We don't get on the boat until noon-ish tomorrow.

Looks like a storm is brewing in the Gulf and will roll in on us towards the end of the week.
I'm not gonna fuss 'cause no matter what .... I won't be at work !!

Big day to day. Hope everything goes smoothly getting us on that boat. Not much different than getting on a plane these days ...
We didn't pay for wifi access so this will be my last post for a few days, not that anyone would miss me.

Good Mornin'! Full counter at the diner this morning. ::tu::
Looks cloudy outside, 73 degrees but there is no rain close to us on the radar. About a half mile south of the church yesterday at noon, the highway was wet from a shower. Turning east, the evidence was gone. Thundered around us all afternoon and we were totally bypassed by showers on every side. "Somebody must not be payin' the preacher", an old saying came to mind. ::hmm:: But the grass is still growing. ::shrug::
Started thawing out some more venison for another batch of sausage, planning on doing that on Wednesday. Last week's making went well, the old vacuum sealer worked perfectly. Even made a couple of small bags of dog food as there was a bit of additional trimming needed on the meat.
Got the coffee on, nobody else is stirring around so far here at Starvation Plantation.

Chris, does this mean you can't have your pocketknife with you? ::poke:: Have fun and don't stir up any tropical depressions.

Good Morning.

Saw a fawn walking on our side of the fence line. Seems deer are starting to expand in our direction. Perhaps because the cattle herds have been reduced.

Began watching an old series, Criminal Mind. Well done in many ways; about FBI criminal profilers, but I find some of the stories too grim for my taste so I don't know if I will stay with it.

Bev brought home a pizza for us yesterday. This is an action of which I fully approve.

Good morning. Rain is coming in this afternoon, possibly hard and heavy, then tomorrow heavy rain likely, then rain likely every day but Wednesday all through the week. Chris might not be the only one to see lots of water this week. It was extremely muggy last night. I'm off to teach a class at our church VBS this morning and will take the rest of the day off. Last night we went to a rib joint with some of the the kids and grand kids (13 of us total) for a really nice meal to celebrate Fathers Day and my 77th birthday which was Saturday. Phil, do we have to pay the preacher to make the rain stop too, or just to make it rain. We've had plenty after a near drought Winter. Have a good week and Chris, hope you have a great vacation.____Dave

Morning folks, 75 a daybreak heading to around 90.
Like the treefarmer the rain showers miss us completely yestiddy we just got some strong winds twice so the boss and I had to drag the hose around and water the plants. More predicted today maybe we'll be the lucky recipients today.
Edgy and Chris hope yawl enjoy your trips. I've been fortunate to have been in all 50 states and 4 of the 5 inhabited territories.
Don't know what if anything we'll get into today.
Hope yawl have a good'un and be careful out there.
Don't forget to hydrate.

73 according to the Tri-County Airport station. Our old weather machine is still holding at 90 degrees! ::shrug:: New batteries solved the problem a week or so back but now it's time for a new one for sure!
Men's prayer meeting in 15 minutes. Later this morning we are going to Panama City and help our schoolteacher daughter with some door issues in the house she is moving into.
Got a full morning of mowing in yesterday, burn that gas and fight them skeeters! ::facepalm::
Y'all enjoy the day!

Good morning. Between the thunder storm and our dog Gypsy's fear of thunder, I ran a little short of sleep this morning. The storm had the house shaking a little and Gypsy kept pawing at the side of the bed. Jane and Molly slept through it, even with me yelling at Gypsy. I'm off to do some tile work but I'm a little grumpy so I hope it all goes well. Have a great Tuesday.____Dave

Good Morning Everyone!
Dave I know how you feel, our dog Mr. Griffin is the same way in a storm.
He runs around panting so much you would think he was going to have a
heart attack. I've got some work out in the garage to do but that will have
to wait. I have got to clean and straighten up the office this morning, it
looks terrible and I can't find anything that I really need.

Have a blessed day and be a blessing to someone.... :D

Up since 0500, dressed sitting here & reading while I wait for the cleaning lady to show up. My stomach is starting to whine "feed me" so I suppose I should get a bowl of cereal. Sunny right now but I see some dark gray tinted clouds headed this way so your guess is as good as mine what's in store for us. Enjoy your day as best you can.

Good Morning to all.
Well it’s hump day for some and Friday for this guy . The heat and humidity kicked my butt yesterday so will take it a little slower today . Even just standing at the site a person would be soaking wet in minutes from the humidity. Lots of water today !
Chris, you all enjoying your trip ?
Bill. Thanks for opening up the joint . Enjoy your day .
Take care out there all you knifers.

Good morning. All's quiet out there finally. We had quite a thunder storm last night but without damage here. There were tornado's in the area that touched down and I haven't heard if any caused damage to buildings. Some areas not too far away got nearly half a foot of rain on already saturated ground so flood warnings were going off. We just got heavy rain and tons of thunder and lightning here. The humidity was near 100% all day. I did get the floor of the shower tiled at the job site and today Jason and I will tackle the walls if all goes as planned. With all this rain, my lawn has never looked better and I'm getting a little anxious to get a day off to mow. Have a good Wednesday and be safe._____Dave

Good Mornin', Folks.
Hot and dry is the forecast, again.
Yesterday we spent most of the day helping our daughter in her move back to Panama City. When I was gainfully employed back 15 years ago or so, I enjoyed working on doors in the schools. Coming up through the ranks at the maintenance department, I somehow learned the art of locksmith and did most of the keying and re-keying for over 30+ years. The old school buildings were always a challenge, the teachers always had issues with their keys and I enjoyed the distraction from the foreman's position on a regular basis. However, yesterday was not a pleasant experience, years of paint on doors and jambs that are in an old frame house about got the best of me! A latching interior door must not have been in the vocabulary of the landlord! ::dang::
Today looks a bit better, going to make another batch of venison sausage, there will be no warped door frames and unaligned strike plates to deal with! ::tu::
The sky is completely overcast this morning, maybe the forecasters have made a mistake. This mess will probably burn off in an hour or so.
Coffee is ready, sausage ingredients are thawed, things should go well this morning. ::paranoid::
