Any Train Enthusiasts Out There?

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Here we see, resting in the locomotive shed at Antonito, Colorado. There’s something about Ten wheelers that just turns me on. Mark

Very cool. So this one has been restored and does it run excursions? I have the D&RG on my bucket list.

DRGW 463 built by Baldwin locomotive Works 1903. She’s a 2-8-2Mikado type. Nicknamed “mudhen” By the crews That operated her. Because of the way she waddled going down the track

DRGW 315 is a 2-8-0 consolidation built by Baldwin locomotive works in 1895 seen here on Hangmans trestle. A horse thief was hung off of this trestle in the 1880s. Westbound on the narrow gauge out of Antonito, Colorado

Great pics, that is definitely a bucket list journey. Do you have any shots you could post of the interior of that Pullman?

DRGW 463 just took on water for return trip to Antonio Colorado. This location is known as Osier It’s the halfway point on the railroad road. Trains can turn around here on the loop track. Elevations about 9200 feet

Some of these last shots look like they're out of a John Wayne western.

Yes Missouri
That’s what I love about the Narrow gauge railroad in Colorado and New Mexico. It’s like stepping back in time 100 years or more. actually the railroad was built in 1880 144 years ago. But these are pictures anybody can shoot today. The people who run the railroad strive to make it as authentic as they possibly can.

Waukonda not my photo. But yes, they used the original Pullman blueprints and drawings to restore this car 100% accurate. It’s actually a sleeper the seats fold down to a bed and then another bed folds down from the over head. BTW the wood is white oak.

Just saw this post,
Absolutely trains are my thing. Dad’s was knives. Mine is/was post war Lionel trains and tourist trains. Union train museum is not too far from home. I really like the old steam. Have been on a number of tourist trains some may even be defunct. The better half and I are older parents. Our son is from the Pittsburgh area, he was less than a week old and we went on a train ride.
My daughter is from Boise Idaho and we went on a real cool train ride there before she was a week old. The best one was the Durango & Silverton. We did not go all the way to silverton. Got off halfway and zip lined then the train picked us up on the way down. It was a wonderful family experience. I added a couple of pictures of the last Christmas layout many man hours in set up. Take’s up the family room and the better half gets antsy when it is up to long.

Very nice, John, an impressive video. Meanwhile, no awesome layout for me, I just sit around and look at my cheap little CGW knife with the bulldog nose loco. It is not nearly as much fun to play with.... ::disgust::

Nice knife.
Not sure if dad has any knives with trains or train advertisements on them. I will have to keep looking.

John nice layout I had one before my son was born in 2001. Took that one down has only been Christmas layouts since.
Can I post a video here or does it have to be a link to ytube?
