Buck 300 series slipjoint manufacturers by model number

Post by KaminskiJL »

Hello,

Does anybody know if a chart exists that shows Buck 300 series slipjoints by model number and manufacturer? I am trying to find out if Schrade made any other models than the 301 and 303. Also, when Buck brought the 300 series production in house did they make all of the model numbers (301 through 333) or did they discard some? Were there any 300 series models made exclusively by Camillus?

Help,
JLK

I found a list on the Buck Collectors Club website (BCCI) that looks like it might be what you're looking for. If you are a member there, you can find it under "Model History".

You posted in the Buck Collectors forum. Up on the top left is a little box that says ”Search this topic” (or similar - may depend on your browser). Type “Camillus” in that box, and submit the search. You should find several posts addressing your question.

The chart you want exists. I copied it many years ago. One of the collectors responsible for getting the information you want on the internet used the screen name 300Bucks. You can pretty well take his posts as gospel. The problem is remembering where I found 300Bucks' stuff, here or on bladeforums.com. Offhand I remember all Buck 313 Muskrats, 317 Trailblazers (2 blade folding hunter slip joints), Daddy Barlows, congresses, 307 4 1/4" Stockmans, 311 Trappers, and several others were made exclusively by Camillus. After Buck started making their own Stockmans they only made 2 spring Stockmans for a very short time before changing to three spring Stockmans. We'll see who finds 300Bucks' stuff first.

Edit: here you go viewtopic.php?p=701092&hilit=300Bucks#p701092

By the way, all Chinese made Buck Stockmans have two springs as far as I know.
