Please pray for my Mom.

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Thank you for the update, Tom. I had been wondering how she was doing, and about your trip, but did not want to distract you by asking.
I am glad that you are able to be with her and to go to church with her today.
I am continuing to pray.
Jesus is life.
Everything else is just a hobby.

My mother had bladder cancer and we pull in to the hospital for her first round of chemo she said I don't want to do this can we just go home, we said sure it's your decision. I've got good friends and kin going through chemo and it's rough. Much respect for anybodys decision to take the treatment or not.
I continue to pray for your mother and the family. ::handshake:: ::pray::

Made my visit & returned home yesterday. I am thankful that I had the chance to see her & spend some time with her again. ::nod::

Only God knows how long she still has. I believe he will call her home soon. Of course I'm still hoping for the best but it's out of my hands. I just have to accept whatever happens.

I barrowed the money for this trip so I don't think I can make it back over for a funeral in the near future. But I knew that before I went over and I chose to visit her now instead of latter. I tried to tell her that in a roundabout way without being too direct.

Thanks for your prayers gentelmen,
I appreciate it,
Tom

Glad you made it back home safely, Tom. Your mother might understand better than you think;
Moms are like that ....

A good friend of my wife, Silke, has the reverse of your situation. She is from Nuremberg, and her mother just
passed yesterday. Silke was able to spend about a month with her last year. Silke is currently fighting her own cancer battle. ::teary_eyes::

Good evening Gentleman,

It turns out that the Mom's memorial service is not untill friday so this morning I changed my mind and decided to take another trip to Maryland. Booked my tickets today. Packing tomorrow. Flying over on Wednesday. ::tu::

It also turns out that there were "Northern Lights" over the town she lived in on the night Mom passed away. It also turns out that my friend John (1967redrider) just happened to have a couple of pictures from those "Northern Lights" that his brother took. I asked for permission to use his wonderful pictures and I wrote a poem to go along with them for Mom's memorial service. I would like to share these with you guys now. Hope you enjoy. ::tu:: And please Tell your brother I said Thank You John. I appreciate it! ::nod:: ::tu::

„Afterglow“

Northern Lights adorned the skies,
The night my loving mother died,
The angels rejoiced,
Heaven´s gates opened wide,
The night my loving mother died.

Although it breaks my heart mom,
Struggling, staggering, slow,
Trying so hard, to let you go,
There´s one more thing that,
I thought you should know.

The whole state lit up, from side to side,
The night you, my loving mother, died,
One giant, magical, pink & purple rainbow,
And there was peace, as the mountains basked,
In your
Afterglow.

I Love You Mom!

Excellent, Tom, a great memorial for your mother. 🙏 You will have to ask the pastor at Davis Memorial about the letter she wrote to the congregation that he read yesterday. It was very moving.

The following poem was started by my Mom (Linda DeVore) sometime after being
diagnosed with cancer. 8 weeks latter, and she is no longer here to finish it. My
sister Christie asked me if I wanted to complete it for her. So…, here goes nothing.

„´Twas only Yesterday“

´Twas only yesterday,
There was a spring in my step,
And life was always good,
No task was too hard,
No day was too long.
(By: Linda DeVore)

´Twas only yesterday mom,
We laughed and then we cried,
Couldn´t find the words,
Although we tried,
´Twas only yesterday.

´Twas only yesterday,
As I recall,
You´d help us up,
If we should fall,
´Twas only yesterday.

´Twas only yesterday,
So to speak,
You gave us strength,
When we were weak,
´Twas only yesterday.

´Twas only yesterday,
Free at last,
The torch you carried,
Has now been passed,
´Twas only yesterday.

„´Twas only yesterday“,
You´ll hear me say,
When we meet again,
Another day,
„´Twas only yesterday“.

You can just picture, if you try,
We will laugh, and we will cry,
Won´t find the words, alhough we try,
And it will all, feel just like,
„´Twas only yesterday.“

We Love You Mom! You are sooo missed!

Tom, my condolences on her passing; I know that you were blessed to have a great mother.
I am also glad that you are able to attend the memorial service, when last week you did not think that you would be able to. That has to be a tremendous comfort.
Her name may no longer on my prayer list, but yours is in her place. May the Lord's peace and comfort sustain you.

Tom,

Just now seeing this. So sorry for your loss. May the Good Lord provide you and your family Divine Comfort during this time of grievance. I thoroughly enjoyed your two poems...you threw some onions in along with your wonderful words.

I pray you have a safe trip to the states and back home again. God Bless you and yours, my Friend.

Tom, I'm so glad you got to go see your mom and also go to her memorial service.
It is tough to go through seasons like this, but the Lord will give you strength, grace and peace.
I appreciate your poems, even though the words were a little blurry. Spoken from the heart!

I pray for God's peace and grace to lift you on eagle's wings, that you and your family may have comfort in this time.
