Good Mornin', Chris and others to come. ::handshake::
Missed the rain that accompanied the cold front that came through, back down to 34 this Friday morning.
Had a decent workday, picked up the zero turn from the shop, cleaned off the roof of the smokehouse and did a couple of things in the deer woods anticipating the upcoming 7 day M/L season that starts tomorrow. Probably won't get to go until Monday.
Last evening was spent helping with decorations. I never realized how much Christmas "stuff" Miss Joy has!
Coffee is ready, waiting for the "decorator-in-chief" to rise and shine.
Y'all have a wonderful day! ::tu::

Good morning. Chris, sounds like you had a good day yesterday. Me too. I prayed for a decent day to get caught up on lost time on the siding job with problems with the man lift and nasty weather earlier in the week. The weather was supposed to be cold and windy. It was still, sunny and actually warm for this time of the year. I took the hand warmers out after a few hours working, and could take my gloves off to measure for cuts. We got a lot of siding on and may even finish up today except for some trim, and may even gt that done. We still have one side of a garage to do that we were going to do at a later date, but might go ahead and tackle that next week. The owner picked up some of the flooring she wants us to lay when we can, and will likely start that right away too. It's the entire first floor of the house so that will take a fair amount of time to finish. She wants some painting done too that will require some planks and ladders to reach. Yesterday was a good day and I'm getting a little greedy and praying for two in a row. They are telling us that Sunday might actually see 40 degrees. That is fall jacket weather up here. Hope you all have a good Friday.____Dave

Our smokehouse, for smokin' sausage, etc has a flat standing seam metal roof the collects lots of leaves. It gets a few pine needles but mostly oak and Black gum tupelo leaves. :) Haven't used it for several years, got easier to make bulk sausage, more practical than stuffed. Been doing summer sausage in Miss Joy's oven as those casings don't allow much smoke penetration.

Good morning. Yesterday felt really good as we finally got the house siding job finished. The weather was decent and I didn't freeze anything off. We still have the man lift until Monday morning so today we are going over to the job site and tear off the siding on the garage front wall and the lift will make it easier to get to the gable end. The house was such a challenge to get done and the garage front wall is pretty straight forward so I'm much more relaxed about finishing that part. Next week the owner wants us to start laying her flooring which is a snap together laminate. The weather man says we could see some freezing rain early next week so that might mess with getting to work. I'll take a snowstorm over freezing rain any time. Snow seldom pulls down trees and power lines and doesn't sneak up on you when you are driving down the road and suddenly ice takes over the direction you are traveling. My 4 wheel drive Toyota is still in the shop and will be until sometime mid week. They think they found the problem and won't be a cheap fix ($1400), but this should do the trick after a month of frustrating repairs that didn't work. My work truck has a working heater fan again after we replaced the new part that went bad after two days. We might spend some time Christmas decorating this weekend and both Jane and I are pretty much over our colds and should be filling our pew at church so things are looking good. Hope you all have a good weekend.____Dave

Good Mornin',
Pearl Harbor Day, how many folks even think about this?
Scott, if it was 42 here in the Panhandle, I might be in the woods but since it's 29°, I'll stay in the house. :)
Dave, y'all be careful in that cold weather!
Coffee's about made, Miss Joy has some baking to do before our get together this evening. The other folks will be bringing cold weather soups and such.
Y'all have a great day!

Morning folks, 22 was the low, 24 at daybreak supposed to top out around 50, south wind got the wind chimes chimming and felt much worse than the 14 did yestiddy.
Got the outside critters fed awaiting on the boss to rouse up. Wampus hadn't showed up as last I looked.
Trash day for me and probably a TSC run. The fleamarket is closed for the season so no enjoyment to be there.
The boss has some decorating to finish and needs some help with it, she's been under the weather as the ole folk used to say, they wuz younger than me when they said it. Hope she feels like doing it.
Yawl have a good'un and be careful out there. ::handshake::
PS. Jerry we have a good friend that swears by them, I tried the oil stuff a couple or three years ago to see if it would take the edge off ole Arthur and couldn't see much benefit, it did lighten my billfold though.

Good morning. Yesterday was a really nice day for this time of the year. WE ran over and tore off the siding on the front of the garage where we are working, then Jason pulled the man life home and put lights up on our house and garage I did snap a couple pictures of the house we sided just before we finished it. I'll have to get one of the back entrance where we accented it with stone. At home, I got some Christmas decorations pulled out of the storage container so home is starting to look festive. Church is in a few hours. We have missed a few Sundays with our coughing and it will feel good to be getting back. Nothing else planned for the day. Have a great Sunday.____Dave

Good Mornin', Folks.
35° this morning, no frost. Maybe winter is over before it even starts! ::paranoid:: Rain is in the forecast from Monday through Wednesday then cold again. We used to have cycle during the cooler months. It would start with balmy weather, the wind would shift to the southwest, you could then smell the paper mill in Panama City. The wind would bring rain out of the Gulf for a day as a front bringing cold weather would be on us for a day or so. The north wind would then slowly work its way to the east and then back to the south, where the cycle would begin again, usually about a 7 day occurrence. Hasn't done that on a regular basis for several years. ::shrug::
Sunday School Christmas party went very well last evening, lots of food and good fellowship with a diverse group of friends here at our house. ::tu::
Scott, keep on enjoying that cool weather!
Dave, y'all need to have one of those lifts on reserve at all times! The pictures of your work always looks great! Folks with your skills are few and far between anymore! ::nod::
Church in a couple of hours I was told there would be one congregational song, then the choir would do their Christmas cantata and the pastor would then present his message on the 2nd Advent candle, the one of Peace. Should be a good day! ::tu::
Y'all have a great Sunday and try to make to a worship service today. ::tu::

Good morning on this balmy 32 degree Monday. It actually rained yesterday before it cooled off and turned to about a half inch of slushy snow. It wasn't enough to cause any problems except slowing me down walking down to the chicken barn. It looked more slippery than it actually was. I'm off to work. Have a good week.____Dave

Good Mornin', Dave and others to come by the diner.
Weather this morning is mild, overcast and 59°. Rain chances increasing later in the day and continuing for a couple of days.
Coffee's making, Miss Joy and the mini-dachsund are out feeding the birds and squirrels. The little dog has veterinary checkup this morning at 10:30.
Yesterday was a great day, especially our church services. The choir did an excellent job and the pastor's message was what we needed.
Maybe we'll make it to the woods with the muzzle loader this afternoon. Strange how it doesn't bother me to not go every time like it used to do. ::shrug:: Also need to process the doe from last Sunday afternoon.
Time drink that 1st cup!
Y'all have a good day.

Pretty quiet here, everyone must be busy or recovering from the weekend. The last part would be me. 4 1/2 hours of live music followed by 1 1/2 hour drive back home. But it was great.
After 2 beautiful days of 60 degrees heading back to winter type weather. Cold north wind today, by Wednesday forecast of below 0.

Good morning Diners. I woke up early to 50º weather after a record high of 84º yesterday. I am prepping for Men's Devotional Breakfast this morning. We'll have a high of about 60º today.
I had my 6 month physical yesterday and my A1C was a little high but at 84 years, it is hard for me to get excited about it. Too much pasta and too many deserts, I guess. I'll cut back for the next 6 months and see how I score next time.
Hope you all have a fine day today.

Good Mornin', Ray and others of the 1st cup diner crew.
Men's prayer meeting at 6am, we need to have a breakfast like you fine Texas folks.
So far we've dodged the rain that was supposed to be upon us. Folks to the north along I-65 in Alabama appear to be getting the most of it, also over in Georgia.
Got news from the vet that the mini-dachsund is too fat! He is on a diet for a couple of months. Might be a thyroid issue if it's not too many treats.
Definitely need to process the deer in the cooler today!
Y'all have a blessed day!

Mornin' Y'all

Awful warm at 65, not much more than that today, and more rain.
Took a few days vacation time at work, just because I could. Maybe it'll help my sanity when I work through Christmas!

Gonna work on that bedroom pile of stuff while I'm off ... easier to get rid of the pile while the wife is at work. ::paranoid::

Good morning. !8 degrees to start the day. Yesterday it couldn't decide if it was going to rain or snow. It was damp and dreary, but at least warm enough to not hurt when the fingers got cold. We still have some siding to put up on the garage front this morning and then it's all inside work. Like Boji said, the cold is coming back to which is closer to normal for us. We got spoiled last Winter and even much of this fall and early Winter. The weather people are telling us the party is over. All those tens of thousands of illegal's that Minneapolis imported just might start longing for the South of the boarder weather they left behind. It can easily get down to 25 or 30 below for highs come January, and I've seen 50 plus below and the world becomes almost unworldly and people die if they get careless. Not today though and the freezing rain they told us we might expect earlier this week didn't amount to anything except us old timers walk a little more carefully because we don't bounce like we used to, and when we fall down, we just stay there for a while and rest up before getting up and going on our way. My car is still in the shop and I'm hoping they will get it done today or tomorrow, and that it is actually fixed this time. I hope you all have a good Tuesday and stat warm.____Dave

I'll take it easy today and hopefully tomorrow the rocks will be back in place and I can get back to my normal stuff.
