Re: Imperial Mexico
Very recently, my trip to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread and to be added to my "South Of The Border" collection. This pocket knife brand is part of the Imperial and Colonial, Mexico story or connection. But this specific brand of pocket knife does NOT make an appearance too often. It is a PM Atlas, two blades (one blade has a cap lifter or bottle opener), one stamp, 3 7/8" closed (not including the bail), two springs, pocket knife. PM Atlas is stamped on the cap lifter or bottle opener part of the secondary blade. The main handle side has horses on it. The other handle side also has horses on it. This is my fourth PM Atlas pocket knife. My other three PM Atlas pocket knives have been previously posted under this topic or thread. The following information regarding PM Atlas was provided by Jason, a.k.a. jxr1197 in a previous post, under this topic or thread, made on Saturday, May 30, 2020. "PM Atlas (Productos Metalicos Atlas - or Atlas Metal Products) was a business in Monterrey MX that bought knives either from the Associated Spring version of Imperial Mexico or from Cuchilleria Monterrey, maybe both." The main blade has a crisp half stop and a VERY WICKED opening and closing snap. The secondary blade also has a crisp half stop and a VERY WICKED opening and closing snap. This pocket knife required NO cleaning at all. Overall, this pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. I took some pictures and here it is.

Found this at an antique shop today on the border. Says “Dos Ciervos” Hecho En Mexico. A bit rough. Needs some cleaning. Couldn’t find any information on it. Found this thread and will have to read it all lol. Any information is appreciated.

This morning, my visit to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also becomes the latest example to be added to my "South Of The Border" collection. This pocket knife brand is part of the Imperial and Colonial, Mexico story or connection. It is an IMPERIAL, one blade, two tools (a cap lifter or bottle opener and a corkscrew), one blade/tool stamp, 3 3/8" closed (not including the bail), pocket knife. The main blade/tool front stamp says, "IMPERIAL (over) MEXICO" The main blade/tool has NO half stop, NO opening snap and NO closing snap. The corkscrew opens and closes properly, with NO issues. I had to clean this pocket knife up a little. Overall, this pocket knife is in GOOD condition. I took some pictures and here it is.

The main blade front tang stamp says, "IMPERIAL (over) HECHO EN (over) MEXICO" The main handle side has the embossed image of a deer's head. The main blade does have a CRISP half stop, a GOOD opening snap and a GOOD closing snap. The secondary blade has NO half stop. The secondary blade also has NO opening snap and NO closing snap. My other DOS CIERVOS pocket knife was posted by me, under this topic or thread, back on Thursday, March 30, 2023. The main blade does NOT have a half stop. The main blade does NOT have an opening snap. The main blade does NOT have a closing snap. The secondary blade does NOT have a half stop. The secondary blade does NOT have an opening snap. The secondary blade does NOT have a closing snap. BOTH OF THE BLADES ARE OUT OF ALIGNMENT with the two springs. This pocket knife DEFINITELY needs some cleaning. Overall, this pocket knife is still in FAIR condition. If I'm able to realign the blades and the springs, also give it a VERY GOOD cleaning, then it will be in GOOD condition. Anyway, I took some pictures and here it is.

Re: Imperial Mexico
Skip you are KILLING it lately with all these great Hecho finds!
I have a Hecho story for you. Eighteen months ago I was contacted by a prop master who was working on the set of a movie called Queer, which is the film adaptation of a William S Burroughs novel by the same name. The prop master had a tough job. The story takes place in Mexico City around 1950 and he was responsible for finding hundreds of props for the film that would have been present in that time and place. Several scenes in the movie show the main character (played by Daniel Craig) holding/using a pocket knife. Since there isn't a ton of info out there about knife manufacturers in Mexico circa 1950 he, predictably, found the article I wrote and asked if the movie could use one of my Hechos. While it was shooting they sent me a few photos of the characters holding the knife but I agreed not to share the pics publicly until the movie was released. The film was shown at the Venice Film Festival last week so I can share them now. Daniel Craig is easy to spot. The younger guy is Drew Starkey and I have no idea who the man on the bike is. Every pic has the knife in it. They used one of the Domino knives.

Re: Imperial Mexico
Thank you, Jason.
That's a GREAT story about your "Domino" pocket knife.
I hope they give you a "credit" in the movie.

Re: Imperial Mexico
Very recently, my visit to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also became the latest example to be added to my "South Of The Border" collection. This pocket knife "brand" is part of the Imperial and Colonial, Mexico story or connection. It is a PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd), two blades (one with a cap lifter or bottle opener), one tang stamp, 3 7/8" closed (not including the bail), two springs, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says "PASTOR (over) ALEMAN with the profile of a German Shepherd's head. The main handle side has an image of a deer's head. The other handle side also has the image of a deer's head. The main blade does have a VERY GOOD half stop. The main blade does have a VERY GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a GOOD closing snap. The secondary blade does have a VERY GOOD half stop. The secondary blade does have a VERY GOOD opening snap. The secondary blade does have a VERY GOOD closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. This pocket knife did NOT need any cleaning. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

Re: Imperial Mexico
A few days ago, my trip to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also became the latest example to be added to my "South Of The Border" collection. This pocket knife brand is part of the Imperial and Colonial, Mexico story or connection. However, this specific brand of pocket knife does NOT make an appearance too often. It is a PM ATLAS, one blade, one blade/tool (a cap lifter or bottle opener), one blade/tool stamp, 3 7/8" closed (not including the bail), two springs, pocket knife. The blade/tool front stamp says, "PM ATLAS" The main handle side is white and has dominoes on it. The other handle side is black and has dominoes on it. Overall, this is is my sixth PM ATLAS pocket knife. My other five PM ATLAS pocket knives, have ALL been previously posted, under and throughout, this topic or thread. Four of the pocket knives have horses on the handles. One pocket knife has dominoes on the handles. The following information regarding PM ATLAS was provided by Jason (jxr1197), in a previous post, under this topic or thread, back on Saturday, May 30, 2020. "PM Atlas (Productos Metalicos Atlas - or Atlas Metal Products) was a business in Monterrey MX that bought knives either from the Associated Spring version of Imperial Mexico or from Cuchilleria Monterrey, maybe both." The main blade does have a GOOD half stop. The main blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a GOOD closing snap. The blade/tool does have a GOOD half stop. The blade/tool does have a GOOD opening snap. The blade/tool does have a VERY GOOD closing snap. This pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. This pocket knife required NO cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.
