Tony, I hope you can find a set which consisted of 3 knives of different lengths: 9, 5 3/4, and 4 3/4 inches. As I recall, Only about 120 sets were made give or take.
The blades are composed of 3 welded steels, san-mai.

Garry, that would be a tremendous find! The odds are not in favor of one finding the set with only 120 being made, but
I have been blessed in getting some hard to find knives in the past. Since I started selling knives, I've met a lot of sellers/collectors
who look out for what the others are looking for. That's another thing that makes this hobby unique ... the good people you meet.

That's a nice set, but 2k is a lot considering a Hattori branded can be purchased from JKD for 700. Thanks for the info ... I bookmarked it.

Of course every portion works together, recurve blade, large false edge, beautiful handle, to name only the most obvious. But what strikes me is that, by some magic, the proportions are perfectly balanced and beautiful.

At this point, I regret to say that I am now rarely stirred by most knives even those of high quality. But this one is a great exception. A wonderful knife. It would be prudent for me to now go and check my blood pressure as I think I have fallen in love.

Garry, I share your opinion of this beautiful knife. I think what makes it so special is that Master Hattori made it. His knives just feel and look better than most you will find. I’m smitten by his craftsmanship and have been for a long time.

QS, I much appreciate your comments. Your description of what you are seeing is the way the knife feels in hand.
It weighs 6.3 ounces with the heavy gauge .177" spine/tang, and balances perfectly in hand. Overall fit is perfect if I was to ever use it,
even with my big hands. I tried to find a flaw, but there are none. Mr. Hattori is the "Master" as Mark says.

I honestly don’t think you can find a better made knife for the money than Moki and Mcusta. When I compare them to custom knives I own and have owned, they are at that level of quality for a whole lot less than a custom knife costs.
