Re: Early ***NORTHFIELD UN-X-LD***pocket knives
Great knife, Slim. I love that huge swedge on the main blade. Thanks for adding the dating information, good thing to know. For when I turn up that trove of old Northfields in some friend's garage.

Thanks Trail. I loved the inscription on the shield and even though I'll never know who Clara was, but she was a real person who used it. For me thats part of the attraction of old knives, wondering where its been, who used it and for what.Slim.

Hey Slim, What a wonderfull & pretty patterned knife there. Super awesome stamps, I enjoy seeing that marking without the Un-X-Ld. I did not realize just how old these knives are without the un-x-ld trademark. Thanks for sharing---Thx Mark

Man, what some history in this thread. I dig the stamped blade. David's article in Knife World was a great read.

Thanks Rattlesnake. It is truly amazing how many knives that are 100 plus years old and are still around today.I've seen so many magnificent old knives displayed by members on this forum. Slim.

WOW! Interesting thread. I didn't realize that Northfield had been around so long.

Doing some research
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!
