A HSB clip blade OVB barlow, really like these barlows, made by Camillus on the Tip Top frame, slightly larger and beefier than the standard barlow of the time.

Thanks guys, Chris I prefer the secondary in front also, can easily select either blade with no fumbling in hand.

That's a beaut!
Easy-opener Jumbo Jack, is my submission for its pattern.
4-inch knife, massive master blade, with long pull and swedge, super condition blades, including the longish pen.
Is that almost a candle end?
Congratulations!

p.s. Don't buff it! Doing that only raises doubts.

Thank you!

I agree across the board. I am very happy with this one, starting with how full the blades still are. Not to mention that both blades have great snap on open close and half stops. Plus, I'm in love with swedges and straight pull nicks, and this spear wears it so well. I also agree, I've been calling it an EO jumbo jack, although I think I've also seen these referred to as tear drops IIRC.
And no, I absolutely will not be buffing it!

This is an unsual OVB marked knife...made on contract by Robeson, circa 1940's to early 60's. Not marked Hibbard Spencer Barteltt, just the OVB with a pattern number.

I have seen a VERY few other OVB marked knives from this era made by Robeson over the years, but this is the first one that I have owned.

I know that we normally think of OVB marked knives as having been made by NYK, and that is generally true. Of course, NYK was long out of busines when this knife was made.

One lesson here is that the hardware copanies would use any and all available manufacturers to make their contract knives, even if a particular manufacturer was used only for a very short time. And I don't think I have ever seen any other robeson made contract knves from this period (older ones, yes but not from the later years like this one).

What a neat OVB shield!
Are those shell style scales? I'm not sure if I've seen any Robesons with that style. Then again, I guess I'm not too familiar with many of their later knives.

Has L.SCHMIDT & SONS on the front side, and $1.00 on back. Got it with this nice leather pouch.
