I see you grinning and rightfully so.
Thank you. And absolutely not show what you do learn and grow and get better. I for sure did not start out doing work like that. Im still learning and early on sharing what I did helped me progress and learn from other people. Anyone who makes things knows its a journey and most I have known want to help out. So please share what you do!!
I agree never be afraid to fail. Looks like it works as intended. IF you want to get away from rivets or any type. Hand stitching is not hard to do. You can make holes with an awl or small drill bit in a drill press or hand drilleven. Worried about spacing dont have a over stitch wheel a fork will work to mark the leather. Couple needles and thread and a simple saddle stitch will work. Thanks for sharing what you made!! Keep enjoying itFRJ wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 6:05 pm Well, here's what I tried to do.
I like the shape of the sheath but I would never use those fasteners again. Lesson earned.
I like the little clinch nails at the bottom right, - I think. Some day I'll make a new sheath with those fasteners.
In most instances I am not afraid to fail. It's very eye opening.![]()
It does support this knife well.![]()
Joe,
You are welcome. Just trying to pay it forward from all the folks who helped me over the years.
