Ozark Trail

Post by CarMan »

My wife picked up this Ozark Trails for me today. It’s a Benchmade Bugout knockoff. And, I have to say that I like it. I wanted a brightly colored knife so it would be easy to see if dropped. I’m not knowledgeable enough about new knives to give a great review or anything, but this will definitely go places with me. Nice D2 for $10

There was a huge surge of popularity and discussion on Reddit a while back about those knives. People all agreed on the quality for the cost it was unbeatable. I like a cheaper(not flimsy or dangerous) knife for the truck or tool box/workbench and these are perfect.

could be a Yugo hood ::shrug:: I always wondered why we take such information from almost all manufacturers at face value without independent testing - does anyone provide that data for their knives ::shrug::

How would one prove Benchmade's S30V is really S30V? 🤔

exactly my point John. I bet it starts with a certification from the steel manufacturer and that’s what the knife manufacturer states.

Wonder if the new high tariffs on Chinese goods will bump up the price of all these cheaper knives?

I saw a video where a guy said that they had tested the steel & it was in fact D2, but no idea how good the heat treat was. Is this true, I don’t know.
