1946 Catalog

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

1946 Catalog

Post by CarMan »

Does anyone know where I can download a copy of the Camillus 1946 Catalog? The only place I am finding has printing running diagonal across each page and I can’t figure out how to pay to get a clear copy.

Also, has anyone heard of a Camillus publication called “knives that went to war”? I have heard it mentioned elsewhere, but my internet searches come up with nothing.

As always, thanks for any & all help guys.

Can't help you with the 1946 catalog.
As far as "knives that went to war",
all I have is this item.

The above link is/was good as of this posting.

Vit_213 has catalogs posted on his CAMILLUS site.
But, it seems the site is down. Hopefully only temporarily.
Here is the link:

Is this the one with a running diagonal across each page John: http://www.collectors-of-camillus.us/Ca ... illuss.pdf ::shrug::

That’s the only online version that I’ve ever seen but you can contact the site owner at lrvickery@comcast.net to see if a clear copy can be made available. ::tu::

Have only seen a poster of “ knives that went to war “ from Camillus . It was when they received the E award from the government. It’s a full size poster showing all the folding and fixed knives they made for WW2 . Been looking for one for years. Have not seen a book with that title ! Nor ever heard of one related to Camillus .
I will try to get ahold of Vit and see what he says . Have his number here somewhere. Living in Russia we don’t hear from him much lately with everything going on in the world.
Please keep us posted if you find out more info.

I would greatly appreciate it. I was unaware that it was a poster. I have been searching for a book. Thank you very much

Thank you, thank you JP. I fished this out of the bay a few months ago with the suspicion that it might be WW 2 origin. And there, 3rd from the bottom on the right side of your post is my bakery knife. Suspicions confirmed.

Well, I just went there again and I don't see that watermark on any page of any catalog. Where I go is

www.collectors-of-camillus.us/Catalogs/Catalogs.htm

and then

Maybe you could download the PDF without the diagonal watermarks and send it to CarMan; that’s what he’s looking for after all. ::handshake::
