The RoseCraft Blades Birchfield Camp Jack Brown or Green Jigged Bone is a traditional cigar pattern that features a 2.9″ 14C28N clip point blade with a brushed satin finish, long pull, half-stop and heavy swedging. It has hand-jigged Brown or Green Jigged Bone covers with brushed stainless steel bolsters, liners, and nickel silver pins. It carries the RoseCraft Rose Bomb shield. It’s 3.625” closed, 6.5” overall, and weighs just 2.9oz.

Please answer a serious question about Rosecraft Blades. Are Rosecraft, or are they not, just Rough Rider Reserve at a higher price. I ask because I have Temu knives that rival Case in build quality but have no delusions that the materials are the same. Why pay American made prices for Chinese knives?

Bill, I have handled and sold 100s of RoseCraft knives in almost 4 years as a qualified dealer. I sold some Rough Ryder Reserves before that, and speaking from experience, the RoseCrafts are better knives all around, especially in fit an finish. ( Opinions will vary, of course. ) I know nothing about Temu knives, but have used my RoseCrafts extensively, and the materials hold up very well. The D2 steel they used in their older patterns has held an edge well. All the newer patterns now have 14C28N stainless. I have not seen any wobble in the pivots or covers coming loose, etc.

Since becoming a RoseCraft dealer, I have had only one return because of a blade rub. As with any company that is doing production, issues do come up with products over time, but I have had only one. The price of RoseCraft knives has increased a bit the last couple years, but not as much as some other knife companies. Everything costs more these days. Hope this helps answer your question.

Thanks for your reply that did answer my question. I asked because I have had neither a Rosecraft nor a RRR in hand. I do have quite a few standard Rough Ryders and Chinese made Queen and Marbles. I haven't had major issues with any of those. And as I said, I own several Temu knives, but do not purchase any of their obviously counterfeit knives.

[American Blade 92]

Got this Cocklebur Trapper today.
It's an incredible knife! I have to be honest, I was prejudiced against the brand at first but after owning one, I'm impressed, beyond impressed.
I prefer it to a traditional Case trapper all day long. Fit and finish is stellar. Assembled with precision. Smooth and feels good in the hand. The blade pulls are great. Lovely grinds on D2 tool steel. Can't beat this knife. It's almost too nice to use.

Between Tony's answer to my question and American Blade 92's obvious "disappointment" in his Cocklebur Trapper, I decided to look closer at the brand. Unfortunately, none of the current Rosecraft offerings at Corn Creek Cutlery jumped out and said, "Buy Me!".

Then I fell into a 3 way KAS trap. My interest in Rosecraft was piqued, I don't own a Muskrat and Rosecraft just happened to have the Sequatchie River Muskrat (https://rosecraftblades.com/product/ros ... at-rct018/) discounted. Hard as I tried, I just couldn't resist.

Will post pictures and a review when the "KASS Fix" arrives.

At last having to wait out the Memorial Day weekend I finally got my next three RoseCraft Blades from our very own here at AAPK. Thank you very much Tony!
I have the Birchfield Camp Jack in green and both the black and red Tuckahoe Jack. As always these three knives pass my tests for ownership. They are sensibly priced; appealing to the eye in style and color; excellent craftmanship and materials; and they fit the bill for what I want in a pocket knife. That red Tuckahoe Jack is going straight into my EDC rotation box.
