Russell Navy Knife

Post by jljr1944 »

I have decided to sell some of my older knives and I am starting with this one. Will give AAPK members first chance before I list it on Ebay.
It is stamped Russell&Co.over Green River Over works. The knife measures 4 and 1/8 inches long when closed and the blade is etched Navy Knife. The blade does not appear to have ever been sharpened.
The blade has excellent snap with half-stop and the stag handles are perfect with no cracks or chips.
When I got the knife the blade was loose due to someone using it as a pry bar. I debated having the knife taken apart and fixing the slightly bent liner but decided against it as I didn't want to take a chance on damaging the stag. I did have the blade repinned and it is now tight with very excellent snap.

Price is 400.00 and includes shipping.

The russell navy knives I have seen all had brass bails. Here is a picture of one with wood handles and the bail appears to be the same as mine. I believe it is original to the knife.

The knife is no longer available. I sold it on Ebay this morning.
