Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
I found these at the flea market market today. Both with the crown 76 tang mark. Now what am I going to do with them.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Had a pretty good weekend on-line; my first purchase is a 1988 vintage 3-5/8" Winchester (Blue Grass/Queen) Moose with smooth yellow bone handles. Bought this one off a hunting forum I frequent. Second purchase is a Schrade 33OT Jackknife that I just won on e-bay. This one was posted by our friend Scott (Triple F) here at AAPK; learned about the auction in the AAPK advertisement section down below. Guess I will be taking my own pictures of these two later on this week.
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark

Thanks Johnnie!
It's amazing how much I like this ol' rascal. Hammer Brand tang stamps dates 1945 - 1955 so it's at least 57 years old!!

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
'Found' a nice GEC today.........as I have stated before, I don't really buy knives with more than
2 blades. I am a new collector and it just seems to be the groove I am in at this time.
Just purchased my 2nd GEC that has 3 blades, its a Calf Roper Prototype like my other 3 blade GEC.
Both are Acrylic too.....
.........and both are kinda red.................
...........
This is my 8th GEC Prototype.....

Trevor...both of those are beauty's.
...I like the first one best..reminds me of lava.
I'm thinking of getting one of those "Calf Ropers" myself.
....I don't own any with acrylic scales..might have to snatch one.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Picked up this Electric Cut Co. just this afternoon. I have been looking at it for quite some time now and finally put the money together and stopped and picked it up. The shield is loose on it, but outside of that, it"s sweet. The knife was likely made after New York Knife Co. bought up Electric Cut as it is stamped, Walden, N.Y. . The fellow I bought this from has a Camillus, swell center, Boy Scout, whittler, which I'm looking to purchase next.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Thanks Gino, Cato. Cato, that congress looks spotless! Nice score
Stopped at my favorite shop late this afternoon, fully intended to pick up a Camillus, Boy Scout whittler. Then I happened to eyeball this swell end Camillus! Just loved the character of the spear blade on this one. Handle's a little rough, but held the whittler side by side with this one, and as nice as the Boy Scout is, I just didn't like that composite handle next to the natural wood. Plus, the killer spear blade
I must be crazy!!
