Here is another one you may like, quite large at 4 1/2" closed, attractive jigged bone handles made by Empire knife Co. on contract........

Re: Vintage Barehead Jacks
Here's a couple woodies I have, one is a New York Knife Co. and the other is unknown.

Both with half-stops, the larger one kicks like a mule. Iron liners and bolster.

This here Remington, R 33 is probably the nicest barehead I own. Tang stamp is Remington over UMC. Made In to the right of the stamp, U.S.A. to the left of the stamp. Bolster's and bone handles are clean, and blade snap is strong.

Here's an old Schrade CUT CO that's been in the family for quite some time, and has filtered down to me for safe keeping!

Thanks Dimitri! Bull. By the way, I like the bone handles on that Syracuse. It's aged with a lot of character to it!

Re: Vintage Barehead Jacks
Did a little digging this morning and pulled out these 3 bare heads. First photo is of a 4 line Camillus, Sword Brand Timber scribe. The blade snapped at the head at some point, but i think the owner did a great job at welding it back on. It lines up well when closed in the handle. The 4 line stamp is done Italisized Font. The next 2 photo's are of a Robeson Shur-Edge Speyiy knife. Blade has insribed " for cutting flesh only ". Ebony handles and strong blade snap.Next 2 shots are a Winchester, tang stamped Trademark U.S.A. Nice spear blade with not much use on it. Cocabola handles with good blade snap as well.

Re: Vintage Barehead Jacks
Thanks Dimitri
! It's just a very nice knife all the way around. I was very happy to have scored on that knife when it became available.. I've been buying from a fellow who started collecting when he was a young boy, before knives started to bring the prices you would typically have to pay now for them. He just keeps pullin them out!! He should be having a Valentine's sale soon. Last years valentine sale was 40% off his marked prices.
