What's Up?

Post by RobesonsRme.com »

The AAPK website is no longer recognizing that I've read the newest posts in a forum or thread.

Is it just me or that a sitewide thing?

I have noticed a few times recently that when selecting "view unread posts" to exit out of a thread and back to the unread list, the same thread I exited out of would be at the top of the unread list with no newer post than the one I had just read? The others farther down the list were unread however. It doesn't happen every time for me either, just every once in a while.

Not sure if that's the same problem you're having ::shrug::

What I'm noticing is when I've read all the posts in a thread and go back to the Forum, the little yellow folder icon remains yellow, indicating there are unread posts and it's not correct.

I'm not sure this is applicable in your case, but if you are not logged in when you read a post I don't think the system registers that you've viewed it. I tried it just now and that's the way it did for me. Once I logged in and selected a thread then went back to the list of threads, the yellow indicator was gone for the thread I'd read.
Your mileage may vary.

I don't know if it's related but I find I get those symptoms if I'm browsing the forum using Google Chrome. Read a post, hit the back button and it still shows unread UNTIL I refresh the page. Once I refresh the page with either the refresh button or by clicking on 'View New Posts' the threads I've visited now show read.

Not that I know of TJ, but I think Win 8 has some sort of tie in to Google, I am just not sure what it is.

I don't like Google and try to avoid using them, but this new system keeps taking me to Google even though my default search engine is Bing. :x

I am going to give this new PC to my wife. She can use Win 8 & Office 365, I found a used PC with XP Pro & I will put my Office 2000 on it & I will be a happy camper!
I hate it that Microsoft has made the programs much harder to use from a PC, just so they will be the same as a phone or notebook Windows program. They are much slower to use plus I have to sort through all the junk I don't use just to find the things I do use. The same is true even in MS Word.

Then it wants so save everything to the cloud! Image

More money for Bill Gates for yet another inferior Microsoft product, which of course you will have to de-bug yourself!!

I am convinced the next time I buy a new computer it will be a Mac! ::nod:: ::nod::

Same thing here using windows 7.
Also the banner at the top of the page Club Member Stores is in black and white - no color.
Must be a malfunction on this website.
