ID help please

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

ID help please

Post by Ronbo »

I picked up this KA-BAR at a recent gun show. It is my first KA-BAR, I really like the look of the scales. I wasn't finding any good reference sites online so I was hoping someone here could tell me more about it. It measures 3 1/4 inches closed. The main blade is marked KA-BAR. There are no other blade markings.

Thanks,

Ronnie

That knife appears to have stag handles, pretty unusual.

I have a little Kabar stag jack and recently sold a Kabar folding hunter with some of the prettiest stag I have seen.
Kabar used to make knives with some of the nicest stag on them, but I think that ended when Cole National bought them (1966) , and possibly before that time.
