Initials on AAPK header logo?

Post by Mumbleypeg »

Way up there at the top of each page, left hand side, is the beautiful AAPK emblem. Under it are the initials (I assume they're intitials) BW, RD, JF, JS, and BP. Curious to know who or what those represent, and despite searching the site high, low, and sideways, I haven't found an explanation. I'm pretty sure there must be some significance, else they wouldn't be there.

Ken, it's the initials of active members who have passed away.

Short answer; those are the initials of deceased members of the forum, all very respected members.
Most were before my time here, but I do know JS was Johnny Samples AKA johnnyrotten (someone check my spelling)

Had not noticed BP, which must be our most recent loss, Brian (?) AKA cutty.

Yeah, Bryan needs to correct that because Brian's last name was Hutto. (or at least that's what I have in my address list)

I didn't think of Bobby P. either. Sad to see it getting so crowded up there.

I recognize all those except Bill Price. Was there something about him that would call him to mind? Could that have been CCBill? He was an old 2005 member and hasn't posted since January of 2013.

That posting was recent enough to have been Bobby P.

8) Jerry That's It! ::tu:: I will edit my Post to reflect that. Bill didn't post very often towards the end of his time here but he use to email me and some of the other members here with off color and R rated jokes all the time. To the point where I would look forward to receiving them. Bill was a Retired Prison Guard, so believe me he had seen it all!

::hmm:: That AAPK logo may fill up in the years to come maybe Brian and the administrators could come up with something special for all of our decesed members. Something like honored past AAPK members. ftd

Bill Wolf was one of my first customers for custom work, as I recall. He could almost be considered a founding member of AAPK, joining in December 2004 just 3 1/2 months after Bryan joined/started the forum.

All the guys with initials up by the logo joined in '04 to '06.
The newest member of the 5 posted by Mitch was Johnnie Samples who joined in July '06.

They were all "Old Timers".

Ulp, that is scary!
Two of the guys on that list joined after I did! ::paranoid::

I think that is a ways down on the priority list. Bryan is still working on getting AAPK tuned up from the server change and the software upgrade.

I need some help and some support regarding the fine members that have gone before us.

First the help I need - Our logo memorializes the initials of forum members that have gone before us. This thread identifies the names of 5 of the 6 but I don't know who "AM" is - can somebody help me fill in the blanks?

Second the support I need - This week we lost a very fine forum member, Tom Murphy (tjmurphy) and I propose that the initials "TJM" be added to the AAPK logo. Can I get a second to that motion?

Lastly, earlier in this thread Ferg suggested "That the AAPK logo may fill up in the years to come maybe Bryan and the administrators could come up with something special for all of (known) our deceased forum members". I second that motion and maybe we can get some brainstorming underway in this thread to float some ideas about to address in a way that minimizes any development efforts for Bryan.
