Now we have a Colonial thread,Show'em
Re: Now we have a Colonial thread,Show'em
Thanks Joe. I found this one on Ebay a few months ago.
I have a couple colonials in great shape other than broken shell handles. I want to find someone to re handle them too someday.
I am sure you have seen the one Treefarmer posted here. Beautiful wood and even has the badge. Boy I like that one.

Today I have a few pictures of a very nice condition Colonial Fish Knife. It has the curved tang stamp used between 1926 and 1938.
Re: Now we have a Colonial thread,Show'em
Here is a disappointing one. I ordered this from Ebay.
It was in great shape before he mailed it. He stuck it in a plain manila envelope with no padding at all. Used less than half what he charged me for shipping too.
I cant decide if I should just go ahead and take it out or what. I guess as long as its in there its still brand new but kind of not worth it with the damaged plastic. I think I will just put it away and think about it a while.

Re: Now we have a Colonial thread,Show'em
I've just scrolled through this Colonial thread and once again was reminded of what a wealth of information Bonfire Bob shared with AAPK!
I posted this Colonial in the mail call a while back, it was a "bonus" from 313Mike. But after running through all the pages of this thread this one needs to be on the Colonial page even if it has been modified. Mike said it had a cracked plastic handle and he allowed a budding knife mechanic to work on it. It is just a great feeling knife, I'm carrying it every now and then . The Bocote wood and the cloud shield really set this one off, plus the half stops. Would have been interesting to read Bonfire Bob's take on this one .

Brian, you have an amazing collection of Colonials. Probably the best I've seen, outside of Bonfire Bobs book. Keep on showing them.

My dad passed away in 1984. I was given his pocket knives which consisted of two Case, one Schrade and two Colonial. Here are pics of the
Colonial. At the time I just threw them into my night stand and just dug them out recently.

Thanks Scott, I Have a couple more displays that I will post later.
Re: Now we have a Colonial thread,Show'em
The Sportsman Barlows and the Forrestmasters are going into display cases at some point. The same as I did with these Slim Jims and Heavy Duty Barlows.
I purchases all of the display cards at separately and all of them are dated 1977 except the the Slim Jims. They have no date on the card. Can anyone date these Slim Jims?
