Dale, I love those Al Mars.
Ditto. Just found your Al Mars today. Not only do the Al Mars perform well but are about the most comsistently handsome production knives I know of.

When Al was alive (he died in 1992), his knives had the best fit and finish of any production knife of that time, better than the F & F of most custom knives of that era.

Al had a degree in design from a college in CA. He put that knowledge into the design of his knives and other products reflects, which those products show. Al also had a line of tactical gear he designed that reflected his penchant for designing items with real world practicality and style. I sure wish I had picked up one of his Tac Jackets when they were available! ::dang::

I really like it. Although I haven't really used it yet and I've had it for almost 10 years. Got it for camping in the back country... and I've been camping once since then. ::doh::

So I just take it out every once in awhile and fondle it. 8)

Well, like you, I haven't used mine a whole lot either. I am really impressed with the design of it. It seems like a real good fit for me.
I'm glad to have it around weather I use it or not.
Thanks.

Yeah, that Trailmaster is a hoss of a knife. I imagine it could make short work of removing body parts. I feel extra manly just by holding it. :D

As a traditionalist, I didn't think I would ever support Black Knives Matter, but after recently picking one up of the ebony variety, I'm now an advocate ...

Wouldn't that knife be considered a traditional? Or should I ask, what really differentiates the modern tacticool from an old school?

I thought we were just talking black knives which is why I posted it. It we're talking tactical only, I guess it doesn't apply ::shrug:: ...

I may have posted these before years ago in another thread but thought I'd put them here too. Funny part is that I really don't get too excited about tactical knives. I like 150 year old traditional stuff, but here are a few I like. Top three are Benchmade (one assist opening and two autos, both which were made by Benchmade, one of them for HR) and the bottom is a SOG made for vehicle emergencies. ____Save
