Nice to see we have international members. It shows knife carrying/collecting can be
across the continents.

Now that's a story I can get behind. A beautiful knife, and even better friend. Well done. ::nod::

big monk and I have had a lot fun and quiet a ride over the past few months (well it was fun after the missing knives turned up via Thailand  )
I am so pleased the "surprise knife" arrived on a special day - I had no idea til I got an email - so this morning I added another surprise by phoning to wish James a "Happy Birthday" ... said it made his day ... made mine too ::tu:: it was great to chat.
I think a lot of the time, you make your own luck .... or kharma in this life
When someone is as generous as the big monk was to me by sending a 'make good' knife when the original knives went "walk about" (through no fault of his)
I knew I was dealing with a a real good fella! ::tu::

What nice gifts! Great looking knife, and coins too, but that knife slip is extra special and personal. My thoughts are that those guys from down under are salt of the earth and Derek has proven this once again. Way to go, Derek! ::tu:: Thanks for sharing Monk!

This is the kind of stuff that seperates AAPK from any other site..
being a member for going on 13 years, kinda makes folk's in the
back ground brim with pride that you have been associated with
guys (& gals) here on AAPK and get to enjoy moments like this
Way to go to the both of you !!!
And brumblydownunder, good show mate, things like you just did
here puts AAPK on the Global scene in such a good way...
by the way, with the summer solstice fast approaching here in the USA,
ain't it your winter time way down under there ???

The "Australia" in the thread title caught my eye .... It wasn't until I opened it that I realized it was this historical thread
Thanks for your kind words stagman. Monk and I exchanged emails as recently as last week as a matter of fact.
And yep heading into winter here and I have my wood shed well stocked.
