No pattern number
No pattern number
Take a look at this Remington that my dad found. The stamp suggest the second half of the 1930s and it’s a great knife. The thing is, I don’t see other examples of this pattern and it doesn’t have a pattern number stamped on the blade.
What do you all think is going on here?
Re: No pattern number
Oh, I didn’t realize Remington inked pattern #s. I thought all Remington’s had it stamped.peanut740 wrote:Likely had an inked on pattern # that worn off.
Does anyone have an idea what pattern number this knife would be?
I can’t seem to find an example of this pattern in the reference guide on this site. It most closely resembles the R6390 but obviously only has 2 blade.

Yes. That looks like it! Thank you so much. Did you use a reference to ID it or are you just that good? If it’s a book, would you mind sharing which?pearlroosterman wrote:Looks like a R7425. More than likely inked with numbers worn off. John

I actually have one like it but it is also in the Jim Sargent book, Knives and Razors, 6th Edition page 481. Glad it helps. John

Re: No pattern number
John is correct with the pattern number. Here is an example with an ink blade etch and ink patter number
Re: No pattern number
I also have the knife like yours without the shield with no blade etch or pattern number.
Re: No pattern number
Thanks again John. So far my wish list includes:
Levine’s guide to knives 3rd or 4th edition
Goins
Seargant’s knives and razors
Any other suggestions would be welcomed.
