June 2018 AAPK Knife Giveaway

Post by bestgear »

This month Railsplitter (Rick) is donating a Case 02245 Budding and Grafting Knife! Thanks for your generosity ::tu:: ::handshake:: Here's what you are playing for:
Case 02245 Budding & Grafting knife from the XX era. Slick Black handle slabs. I’ve owned the knife since late 2011 and I’ve done my best to keep it well preserved. I was told by the merchant that I bought it from that it’s a somewhat rare model because it's a special purpose model and Case kept the run sizes low on special purpose models. Aside from that I don't know much about it. Some pretty severe rub marks on both blades but aside from that it's in great shape.
Instructions for entering the giveaway...

Simply click here and select a number between 0 and 1000.

Please note you will now have up to 6:00 PM Eastern Time to pick a number on the day of the drawing not a day before like previous drawings!

You will have until June 30 (6:00 P.M. Eastern) to pick a number after this time an official "Final List" of the entrants will be posted in this thread. The winner will be determined by the Illinois State Lottery evening pick three drawing on June 30. The Individual closest to the selected number without going over will win. The Illinois lottery results can be found on the following website:

http://www.illinoislottery.com/en-us/Pick_3.html

You must be 18 years of age or older to play. The winner will be sent a PM after the drawing and will have 10 days to respond with your name and shipping address, if you do not respond within the allotted time the knife will be given to the next closest winner on the list without going over.

Good Luck!

I wouldn't kick that one out of my pile for having a little blade rub. I like it!

Rick, this is a generous donation. I may be incorrect, but if one does a Search across AAPK for 02245, I believe pictures of only 2 examples of the budding and grafting (aka Case XX 02245 SHSP) pattern will be found - and this knife is one of them.

Fourth generation Arborist, I have to get in the running for this one. Although I don't do any grafting, it will still fit in my pocket, Joe.

Thanks for the chance, great generosity. Here is another of your name. These coins were made in Waterbury Ct. a long time ago when the city was not a 3rd world. Its Lincoln, my Grandpa dug it up many yrs ago.

That's pretty neat. I chose my forum name based on the Queen/Schatt & Morgan Railsplitter pattern which is one of my favorite patterns. I particularly like the three blade versions in D2 steel but it's primarily the shape of the frame that I'm attracted to.

It's just a strange coincidence that Abraham Lincoln's nickname was Railsplitter and we both live(d) in Springfield, Illinois.

I do like that coin. Nice find.
