Case Prototype?

I'll go out on a limb here and guess this is not a prototype. That pin in the bottom end looks like a sore thumb and I just don't think those handles have much aesthetic appeal to them. Would not be a big seller.

Bob, what material do you suppose the handles are? Plexi-glass or polycarbonate, maybe? Probably quite durable and I'll go a step beyond your gracious description of the handles as not having much "aesthetic appeal" and say they are plumb ugly! That seller thinks very highly of all his items he has listed.

No offense intended to those members from the Volunteer State, but this area spawns the most fake and altered knives in the country. When I first began searching knives on ebay I was warned by others to not buy or be very careful about buying knives from below the Mason-Dixon line, especially TN and KY. As fakery has become more prevalent it does seem to have spread geographically across the country but the hotbed is still TN.

I'm going to guess this is the clear cast stuff that you get at Hobby Lobby. They make paper weights with floating coins in them from the same material. It doesn't look as if the shield has ever been removed from the knife and the orignal pins are still there.
Also in the knife repair and restoration forum Rob - whitebuffalo58 has been posting some repair projects with clear handles. He could have made a presentable EDC knife out of this. Kind of a quick / cheap repair on the ebay knife.

That's the new and improved? ebay way of doing things. I suppose they're trying to come up with a way to charge you a fee for searching completed items or trying to sell you something you don't want to buy. The seller actually ended this listing. If you want to see it click on the link and when it comes up at the top left look where it says - The Listing you are looking for is no longer avaialble. Click on the word listing and the op knife will come up
