MB, nice old knife. I sure hate it that those with the marlin spike have caught my eye.

Nothing like a group of Miller Bros Rope knives - Nice Dimitri ::tu:: ::tu:: ... All with that nice bone and even the brass lanyard ring - very cool ::nod:: ... Did you see the thread awhile back on buying duplicates?? :lol: ...

Dimitri, those all look to be the same length.

I thought Miller Bros made two different sizes.

Well, I got this recently. It is in very good condition. I don't understand the etch.

Hey Joe that is a nice Colonial riggers knife you have.

The etch on the blade is the National Stock Number (NSN) assigned to that knife by the Department of Defense. Any military member would fill out a order form using that NSN to request that knife from the Supply warehouse. That number is probably discontinued by now. Steve B. USAF retired.

I found a really decent example of this English rope knife with the folding Marlin spike.

If you have ever handled one of these you know what a nail breaker it is to get the blades open! :shock:
