The Ganzo Thread
A place to post your latest Ganzo, (or your oldest Ganzo) whatever flavor it may be.
I'm going to get it started by posting a stock picture of this Firebird F7551-OR I ordered last night. Some will say "ugh, how ugly" and that's okay, we're all entitled to our own opinions even if they are wrong. Hey! It's orange. Need more be said?

You've got to admit Sam, it is different. Kinda looks like a pocket meat cleaver.

I thought so too. Any idea on the weight of it? Being orange it will be easier to find if you drop it in the leaves or thick grass.

4.16 really isn't bad for a knife with all that blade.

Power Cutlery has them for a few dollars more and to me it's worth it to get it in a few days.

Re: The Ganzo Thread
I can't post pics with this phone but I have the green scaled autos in black. I have one or two of all the autos and many of the manual Ganzos and am very happy with every one of them. I know they are China made but personally I think for the money they are very well made! I've paid more and got less, and they're coming out with new models that are very interesting.

Captian O is a big fan of them too. I have that orange model with the carbon fiber and to me I think it's a little slick. If your hands got wet it might be a problem cutting, or not cutting yourself. I'm really a big fan of the automatic Ganzos. Well worth twice the fast tech price.

Re: The Ganzo Thread
Picked up this one and it came today. Actually I had to go get it because the Post Office wasn't doing deliveries today. I don't know where I came up with that '1'. Actually it's an F755.

Re: The Ganzo Thread
Do you mean the name someone (Ganzo) has given it?
Edit: I just went searching and watched a couple of videos on the knife. I guess they simply call it a "Clever" knife. Makes sense to me. One guy said they're not practical but I think he's full of beans and taters.
I have a lot of trouble understanding the Australian (top video) but the other two are okay. Last guy is just a bit on the goofy side.

LuvThemKnives (LTK) is one of my subscriptions - and yeah, he's goofy, but that's OK. Lately he's gone a bit overboard on lab testing steel hardness. He did actually confirm that the Ganzo have the steel they claim to have, which I guess is a good thing.

Here are my Ganzo's. I used to have more but had to sell them. These I'm not letting go of!

Re: The Ganzo Thread
Got my first Ganzo today, the FH11 Firebird flipper. G10 handles and D2 steel. I love the blade shape and it shaved hair out of the box. Reversible pocket clip. The only concern I have it the liner lock doesn't fully engage the blade. I'll see how that goes. As a first impression I like it! For $20 it rivals my Buck Vantage and my Ontario Rat 1.

Re: The Ganzo Thread
A lot of liner locks do not "fully engage the blade". In fact, you really don't want 100% engagement because it makes it harder to release the lock than it really needs to be and over time, using the liner will naturally cause it to move to the right a bit. I have read that anywhere in the 30-60% range is fine.Byrd wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 7:39 pm Got my first Ganzo today, the FH11 Firebird flipper. G10 handles and D2 steel. Someone please correct me if I have that wrong!

Re: The Ganzo Thread
I agree with suitcase's post above. This is the only picture I have of a liner lock. This is satisfactory but ideally engagement should be about a millimeter or two to the left.

Re: The Ganzo Thread
Thanks guys! I'll use it and keep an eye on it. It locks up tightly. Actually that was more of an observation than a complaint because this knife has great bang for the buck.

Really cool knives in this thread, keep em' coming boys . If I had more money to spare, Ganzo's would be another brand I would collect. Man overseas knives are great quality now-a-days . Heck, I think i'll go order 1 (or 2) right this minute, even if i'm getting low on cash .
