Cleaver-Evansville Tool Works-Evansville Indiana U.S.A.

Post by New_Windsor_NY »

This cleaver has been in my family for a long, long, long time (never saw anyone use it). It is still in very, very good condition. The maker mark/stamp says EVANSVILLE TOOL WORKS EVANSVILLE IND U.S.A. (forms a circle) around a profile of a canine with TRADEMARK below it. The bolster is loose. The wooden handle has no issues. Year manufactured ? This ISN'T one of the cleavers that are on eBay. :D ::tu::

One source said, "Evansville Tool Works was formed sometime in the 1890's, and later became a Division of the American Fork & Hoe Co. around 1936."

I saw that also. Not much other information to be found (so far).
Thanks for the info.

What a nice cleaver. Thanks for showing it. I love the stamp; looks like a fox, eh? One of my first interest categories in cutlery collectibles was cleavers and I have some yet that I would release.
