I'm always on the lookout for Fan Brand knives and tang stamp variations, and I thought I would share a few:
1. Barehead jack, arched Schlieper stamp over Fan logo, no shield, no etch
2. Brass commerative knife, arched Schlieper stamp, no shield, no etch
3. Half whittler, Straightline stamp, Solingen shield, 3-'eye' etch with fans instead
4. Medium stockman, Straightline stamp, Solingen shield, 3-'eye' etch with fans instead
5. Medium stockman, Straightline stamp, plain shield, 3-'eye' etch with fans instead
6. Large sodbuster Art Ullis Special, Fan Co. Solingen Germany tang stamp.
#4 really caught my eye because the coping blade has the faint stamp of the Indian Head stamp. I don't think it has been replaced. I tried to get a pic but couldn't.
#5 & #6 are well-used, but I still like them.
Thanks!
Keith

Re: My Fan Brands
Great old Fan Brands, Keith. The bare head jack is the Hoss in that group in my humble opinion.

Re: My Fan Brands
Very good stuff, Keith. Like Joe says, the barehead is especially nice. The sodbuster is interesting. I really like the pattern in general and this is a really early version. It does not have the improved pivot pin that we see on the later models. Also, the tang stamp looks to be THE FAN CO. and I don't recall seeing that before.
