I don't think it was a sabre grind, I would have remembered that. But they did have long pulls like the pic that Rick posted. However, they didn't have the swedges cut into them yet, which at the time made me wonder if there would not be swedges.

So my Father's Day gift snuck out of the tube for this brief, unauthorized, photo op. Here's the "Dark Chestnut Bone" SFO posing next to a #48 Improved Trapper. The muskrat clip blades are nearly identical in length, but I thought the #12 blade is just a little thicker stock than the 48 muskrat blade. Anybody have calipers who can verify this? The #12 handle is overall thinner than my 48 two-blade, as expected, and the good ergonomics of the handle make up for the strange looks. This is going to make a nice gentleman's folder, starting next month.

This one came from Frank’s Classic Knives. I’m liking this one just as much as the aqua camel bone. It’s very well done.

The picture above of the 2011 toothpick looks to have a saber grind.

Greg, those pics show bolster to bolster exterior stag surface. Will they remain this way ? or do they now get sanded down to ensure perfect height alignment with bolsters/caps ?

Those look to be in the pre-hafting stage Roland but the slabs seem to be very slim so maybe there will be some really nice ones in this batch.

I just bought a Northfield Sambar Stag toothpick from KnivesShipFree . 50 knives were listed. I bought the first one. My Sambar Toothpick is smooth , colorful , and Phat. I just counted 8 of 50 left. These are selling like hotcakes ! The knife Connection had a bunch and they have one left. "Buy American or Starve !" You snooze ! You lose !

TSA Knives listed about 12 of them
this afternoon and I was lucky enough
to get one. Minutes ago there were still 2 of them available.

Yes. I see KSF also has (or had ?) a few. I think i will try to hold off. My aqua blue camel bone #12 is a beauty. I don't really need a stag one ::teary_eyes::

Got mine yesterday. I think I like the stag on the back better than on the front. Didn’t have a choice of stag by the time I got the email from CK, but I’m pretty pleased with it. I still like the camel bone and the red bone better.

I think you got a really nice one there. Personally I like the front side stag better, looks almost like mammoth bark. I'm not a big stag guy, but it looks really good here since the #12's alter ego is the "Powderhorn". Well done!

Got this today...Thought I wasn't going to get a #12...but here is my second one. I think I like the Frank's Classic, jigged red bone, a bit better. They are both nice knives.

KSF added a few more stag yesterday and I had to get this one even though I had already bought 2 other stag for myself and the wife. This is how I wish GEC would fit the stag all the time, almost bolster to bolster..
