Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Larry, impressive to find all of the 10 dot stag patterns. ::tu:: ::tu:: It looks like a full set, and then some, because it appears there may be more than 1 example of a couple of them. :)

Marcus010709, sorry don’t know much on newer groups like your. Don’t worry about what you paid for it.
It’s a wonderful display and enjoy it.

A family portrait of the 51 pattern. The 3 drop points plus the stag recover from Glenn Trowbridge and the only clip point I'm aware of.

It's been a while since I have had a mail call with an old Case knife in the mail box. Thanks to Steve knifeaholic the drought is broken with this Rogers bone Case Tested XX 6240 SP doglegg trapper. It is 4 7/16" closed.

Ralphalsip,
What a beauty! Way, way out of my league. I'd love to just hold that one for a few minutes.
When did Case quit making that one?

I believe Case may have stopped making this pattern before 1940. However I also believe they were reintroduced. If you look at the link below, you will see that our good friend Greg Smith has very nice group of these. This is the first one of these that I have owned and held. It does fit really nice in the hand based on the shape. It is a big knife and the blades are long.

Hard act to follow with that early Case beauty Ralph posted but these three came over the past few weeks and was out of town and busy so here's the group shot instead of one at a time:
1972 brownish red bone 06247
'40-64 red bone with some black 06247 PEN
'40-64 greenbone 62087
Middle one courtesy of Knifeaholic and I've been carrying and using it. Sweet knife. Thanks Knifeaholic.
