Hello from Central AL
Hello!
My name is Justin and I hale from Central Alabama. I am a maker of custom fixed blades as a part time job. I was a member here many years ago. Got away from traditional folders but I find myself coming back to them. I'm hoping to get back into collecting.
I like carbon steel blades. Jack knives and barlows catch my eye. My first folder was a OT stockman when I was a lad. Bone and stag handles are my favorite as a rule.
I'm having a hard time choosing which brand to focus on. I'm stuck between Case (CV blades,) and GEC. I like the looks of alot of the GEC stuff but Love Case's availability
Cheers!!!

Welcome back, glad to have you! I know what you mean like between Case or GEC, but for me my knife collecting is about preserving history. The older the knife the better and it doesn't have to be in working or "carrying" order. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi and to AAPK. I agree with dlr110 and I try to collect older, USA made knives.

Howdy, Justin! A welcome back to you from LA (lower Alabama-the Florida Panhandle). It's hard to beat an old CV bladed Case even though I mostly carry a couple of old Queens as EDCs, there are some old Cases ready and waiting.

Thunderwood, I’m really late on the official greeting, but I already met you in the Diner.
You are definitely going to like it here!
I think you’ll find that a lot of us have more than one focus. I’m mostly all about Richards, but if someone waves a Pal Blade or especially a Pal Brand at me, I’m gonna bite like a gator in a bad mood! ( I’ve met one... )
The advantage is that the knowledge pool here is huge. We all know a lot about something and quite a bit about a few other things.
Welcome!
