swayback and 33OT

Post by glennbad »

Not sure if I have shared these yet. The first is a simple stag mod on an OT. The second is crosscut mammoth on a damascus swayback.

Like the stag a lot but love the mamoth. I like the style of knife, the wharncliff blade and that mamoth is fabulous!!! ::handshake::

Ditto! That crosscut mammouth damascus swayback is a real knockout!

That is a GRRRRRRRReat (as Tony would say) job on that Old Timer!!
(OTs are near and dear to my heart!!!)

That mammoth sway back is KILLER!!

SO..... what is it like working with the mammoth?
Special tools involved?

Nice custom job Glenn.

No, in fact, I find it in some ways much like working bone. Not as hard as stag, and it can be brittle at times. However, with this crosscut, I find you have to be a little more careful, as it tends to flake out easier, you can lose a chunk quite easily.

Thanks for the words of wisdom Glenn.
I want to give that stuff a try (eventually)... I LIKE the look!
