Here's a Case backpocket I did in stag. The original covers looked like this..

That is a fantastic mod to that knife. Gnarly stag for sure. You could remove paint from an old barn with those scales. Nice work, beautiful knife!

Great job Glenn. It’s definitely nicer now, but it wasn’t too shabby to begin with!

Outstanding Glenn! ::drool::
The way you chose to lay the stag out on the handles and the way that you hafted it is a perfect 10 out of 10!
I'm betting you probably had to thin that stag quite a bit didn't you? That's always a bit of a challenge. ::nod::
Great job my friend! ::handshake::

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Yeah Dale, stag layout and hafting is a bit of a gamble, eh? Even after taking off alot, it was still a bit fat, but I made it work. I've had to scrap a few choices here and there on projects, as it sometimes doesn't turn out the way you envision it. I am also of the school where I don't think the mark and pile side have to match. I try to make them compliment each other in terms of fit and handling. I pretty much let the stag show me how it wants to look.

Glen you do great work as I well know. In the oddball that doesn’t like gnarly or fat stag at all, but I do admire the talent involved in your work. Very impressive!

Glen I have some questions If you don't mind me asking? :D

I really like how the stag on this knife is colored. Does it come just like that or do you color it somehow? And, can you pick the specific pieces of stag that you buy or do you just order some stag and you get what you get? ::shrug:: Just curious. :mrgreen:

The stag on that knife, as well as most of the stag I use, is stag that I have bought from dealers like Culpepper or Masecraft. I'm not sure if they dye it in any way though. I also use amber stag, which is clearly dyed, and I have also experimented with dyeing my own stag.

As to picking out stag, sites like Culpepper don't generally let you see the stag you are getting,but you can request certain types when you order (craggy, smooth, etc.) I appreciate being able to handle the stag before buying though.
