Wow!! :shock: ::tu::
You could try high % vodka. Mom found out that it makes great odor remover for shoes. It may work for all kinds of leather goods. Can't hurt. Well, the knife, not you... :mrgreen: You could use the rest of the bottle to make Swedish meatballs. Best thing you'll ever eat. Well one of the many home made foods.

Was the person who sold you those "DRUNK". One of those would cost anywhere from $35-$60 over here!!!

You didn't buy 'em;you STOLE 'em! Great score on some great (and under appreciated)knives. This may sound a bit odd but you might try a little Massengill douche(which is basically white vinegar & water)to treat the mildew. It also works great for removing the skunk stink from dumb dogs.Forget the tomato products;they don't work.

Thanks for the ideas guys. My house is starting to smell mildew, and the sheaths are in a plastic bag. Yeah Phil, I like the unbranded ones best. k7k, for skunk smell we use hydrogen peroxide, soda and Dawn dish soap. Spray the whole bottle on the dog, leave it set for about 5 minutes, rinse well and you can't smell it even up close. Soda and Lysol didn't work on the sheaths. I tried lemon, Fabreeze, pet odor remover with no luck. I'll try the vodka. I've never heard of using vodka in Swedish meatballs. We have them for Christmas every year. I looked on line and the knives are selling for between $30 and $60 here so I think I did well. I sure hate the smell though. He had about 15 more, but I think any more of this deal and Jane would have moved out. ____Dave

So your kayak trip was a success. Kind of a small haul for you, but very nice. Like that wooden duck!

Great scores! That MTech ought to be a good cheapie just to beat up on. Really like the tanto shape. You always see Camillus or Imperial Demo knives (and occasionally Ontario, who were the last to make them, only discontinuing them 4-5 years ago), but rarely Schrade.
