American Blade Collectors Association-25 Blades

Post by Pat Stanley »

Up for sale is my collection of American Blade collectors knives. Not sure if is in any way complete. All are unsharpened, unused and near mint. I say near mint because you can find minor blemishes from storage or manufacturing. All but one have good to excelent snap. Quite a few have the factory oil contributing this. From my experience with this my collection once the 30+ yo factory oil is cleaned they are as good as new. For the photos I did not polish most of these, only some glaring fingerprints and I did miss a few. Check the photos and enlarge for a detailed view. I did not take extensive photos due to the quantity. For serious inquiries I can take more photos. I would prefer to sell these as a collection as I have had some unplanned expenses recently. I may be posting a day or 2 prematurely as I have yet to come up with an accurate evaluation. I think I'll have to place photos in multiple posts due to file size.

I can be reached via pm but I can respond much quicker via email at patgf58@gmail.com. During the day I am not often near a computer. Ill have all the photos post hopefully in order of the listing.

More photos.
All but a few do not have papers or boxes. About 20 are stored in the velvet lined folding case as shown in one of the photos.

Payment can be made through Google Pay, PayPal or credit/debit card with a 3.25% fee.

Again thanks for looking. Any thoughts or insights would also be appreciated.

Pat

Just found this on fleabay. My father was a life subscriber/member and his member # is 413. L413, 413, 0413 and L0413 are the numbers on my set. What do you think, factory mix up, or more than the 2100 produced?

That is a nice collection of knives, Pat. However, there is currently not a lot of interest in club knives. Better to look at sold listings on ebay. I just searched and there are 5 ABCA knives listed as being sold in the last while. Prices ranged from $17.50 to $87.86, with and average of $55.
I started out by collecting NKCA knives about 12 years ago. I believe that right now I would be lucky to get back half of what I originally paid for the 27 that I have.

Sorry, I missed the gist of your query. Seems strange that the ebay knives have the same number as your father's collection. However, I have not answer as to why.

Wondering if $1000 for 24 (not 25 sorry) would make this attractive.
Thanks for looking.
