Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Nice Mini C. Before I got addicted to 07s, I was hooked on 109s...especially 109Ws, of course. Great pattern. ::tu::

Here is a recent pickup. A Case Tested XX Greenbone large Doctor's Knife 6234 3 5/8" closed 1920-40. I have handled a lot of knives but this is the 1st one of these I have seen. Let me know if anyone else here has other examples of this pattern, and as always,

Thanks for looking ::tu::

Hi Fishnbum,

Two very nice looking knives! ::tu:: They remind me of that children's rhyme that went...:
"Fatty & Skinny went to bed, fatty rolled over and skinny was dead." lol ::super_happy::

But they are both really good looking! Nice find!

It's always a good day when I receive a Case pattern that I did not previously have! Today it is a 1984 P1051 1/2L Lockback in Pakkawood. Bought it right here from an AAPK seller. I like it!

Yeah I thought that too, how different they are but both really nice in their own way. I bought several knives thinking I would sell those two and get some of my money back but the more I look at them the more I like them. They ain’t eating anything
Older dogs, I’ve bought a couple of knives from you and they were both awesome. Thanks

Like that Tribal lock! ::tu:: and that lockback is a good one to have TFL.

Picked up this Seahorse whittler yesterday at the Lehigh Valley knife show. Used and was owned by Bill Goodman, bought from his estate at the show. I've been considering one of these for a while and the opportunity just jumped right out at me. :D

Beautiful looking Seahorse Steve! Being new to this hobby, the list of knives I would like to own is very long & getting longer all the time but a nice Seahorse or two are pretty close to the top of my list. The one you found looks great and I can see why you couldn't pass it up. That Green is a wonderful color. ::tu:: :D I'd love to have a Case Seahorse with Flag Shield. ::super_happy::

Thanks for the kind comment TPK. I had a choice, this one or a bright blue. The blue handled one was speaking to me and was saying" I'm too bright".

Pick this up at the flea yesterday.

8-dot lightning S (1982 ??) No other stamps. Delrin scales.
Bought it thinking it was a 35 pattern, but with the sheepfoot secondary, I question that.
I measure it as 3 and 5/16 inches.
Would you learned gentlemen confirm or correct my id ...

Looks to be unused. I'll put my own edge on it and put it in the rotation.

Chris: It sure looks like a 35 except for the sheepsfoot. Looked in Steve P's book, no sheepsfoot variation listed. It does list OAL at 3 1/4". Undocumented variation or its been apart. The pivot pin makes me think its been apart.

TPK so that's what it was saying! I should get my hearing checked. ::tu::

I'm getting quite cynical in my old age, and it has gotten to the point where any time I can see the pivot pin in the bolster, I start getting suspicious. As a counterpoint, I think that knife looks far better than the many you see where the secondary blade has been reshaped into a little nub after it was snapped off.

One of the sweetest phrases was uttered by my wife Saturday: “ you got a box from Case in the mail today”. These two were inside. The Trapperlock is one of the new “kickstart” knives. Peach seed autumn jigged bone. One of 455 made. The second one is a TB Sowbelly in Blue Smoked Kirinite. One of 490 made. These weren’t suppose to come until December so it was a big surprise getting them this early. Plus on these you had to have been lucky enough to have your entry pulled to get them. I got selected for a canoe in blue smoke Kirinite earlier or last year. Love the colors on both of these.
Honestly does anyone color or jig bone better than Case?

Thanks TPK and QS. That Trapperlock is so nice I am really tempted to carry and use it. But I just can’t bring myself to use a limited production knife like this. And I tried a Trapperlock for awhile and the clip was just not right. It road funny in my pocket.
This kickstart really jumps right out. The feel and looks of this one are just great.
