Re: Rough Riders!
I can't believe it! You're right kj I just bought that same knife 3 weeks ago brand new for $15.99 to go with another I have in that series. Why would someone do that without a little research first? I just thought of a line from a song, "God is great, beer is good and people are CRAZY."kootenay joe wrote:Maybe it is time to ebay your Rough Riders. Re: Rough Riders!
dlr, i used one of the Trappers in this RR series to field dress a deer. It did the slickest, easiest job of it of any of the 50 or so deer i have dressed out.
I'd like to know where you bought yours. I want another one of these.
thanks, kj

Re: Rough Riders!
Just looked up this Rough Rider after seeing your reports. For me to get it over here would cost me $123 Australian. Do not think so, i am not going to pay $70 American for postage. The last Rough Rider i bought from America cost me $45 Australian. How they come up with $70 for postage is beyond me. That is one of the problems living over here, the $ conversion with postage thrown in. Hope you all have a good weekend.

Re: Rough Riders!
Thank you for that. I did not know the Forum rules about posting names on threads. This ebay seller is my go to person for buying Rough Riders. If you read her history, you can only wish her all the success she deserves. Is an absolute pleasure to deal with, dispatches same day with complete tracking details and only too willing to help and answer any questions. Her postage costs are one of the best on Ebay. Cannot recommend her highly enough. As i said bringing knives over here is very expensive, but using the above website can bring the costs down significantly.Shearer wrote:Try this seller .I found him very good and he combines shipping.cudgee wrote:Just looked up this Rough Rider after seeing your reports. Re: Rough Riders!
Here is the SOLD listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rough-Rider-Ou ... true&rt=nc
$147.50 !!
For a 4 1/8" bone handled trapper that SMKW sold for $13. They are currently out of stock but there are many other equally good RR trappers with the same blades that are available.
One of the 2 dueling bidders has a FB of "0".

Re: Rough Riders!
This is a Tobacco Bone, Cotton Sampler. Really nice little knife. Cost me $16US, i would not pay some of the prices people are paying on the net. They are good, but not that good.

Re: Rough Riders!
Here is another one: RR Large Toenail, retail price under $20, being auctioned, 26 hours to go and at $81 now.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/ROUGH-RIDER-KN ... 1438.l2649
I have about 200 RR knives but i did not keep all the boxes. They are very good knives and still widely available from retailers so i never thought i could sell them, let alone make a 500% profit on some of them.
I do not understand !

Re: Rough Riders!
It is completely crazy. I have read comments on a couple of threads on this forum to the effect that China knives were not worth collecting, or even buying, because they would never ever be worth more than what was paid new, and probably not that. I have not bought a new Rough Rider for a year or two, I guess I need to get busy!kootenay joe wrote:Here is another one: RR Large Toenail, retail price under $20, being auctioned, 26 hours to go and at $81 now.

It might be because of the ACORN SHIELD.
Both knives that sold for a high price had the ACORN SHIELD.

Re: Rough Riders!
Two more sold. One for $51 and the other for $61. Only three or four doing all the bidding on them.
I've got one. She's a handfull. Paid $12.06 for her. Anyone want to give me $100 for it?

Jerry, I’ve got one of them double barreled RRs, not sure what pattern it is. I’ll dig it out and maybe we can get started on our 2nd million! Treefarmer
