trying to find information on this knife..

bought a box of tools and this old knife was in it . tried online finding year or make but can't find it. it has a diamond on base of blade with rays around diamond.and handle also has a diamond on both sides strange pattern on handle ...and a few marks looking like chinese or Japanese on handle design
.any help would be appreciated thanks.... :)

Welcome to the forums! I have the identical knife and I thought at first it might be of Japanese origin but someone has told me that it is probably Russian made in the 1960's or 70's.

It's not Russian, Ray. I think it's Chinese.

Good to hear! My mantra is:" I am vertical;taking nourishment;can still tell the meat from the potatoes;and I can still remember my name.....occasionally". If I can meet those criteria each day then I am satisfied. As the Vulcan Mr. Spock says in the Star Trek series:" Live long and prosper!"
