Craftsman Barlow

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Craftsman Barlow

Post by fergusontd »

::tu:: My Grandaon bought me this Craftsman Barlow at a flea market. Not sure who made it, it appears to be an older model. It has USA 9540 on the tang. Can anybody tell me who made this and possibly when? Thanks in advance. ftd

I'm going to guess that Schrade made it. No idea on the year(s). I'm probably wrong, usually am. ::shrug::

My guess is that it was made by Ulster..... probably made about the same time as the PA Old Timers (?) ... Looks just like the 10 OT...

I have a Craftsman Barlow similar to yours. My Barlow is not in
as good condition as yours. Gets a lot of use for outdoor cutting.

::hmm:: 1 last question, the handle material on my Craftsman Old Crafty supposedly made by Ulster is it bone or derlin. The handle materal has pulled away slightly close to the metal, I've never seen derlin warp. Opnions please. ftd
