WTB: Camillus #66 Pocket Knife

Post by mph57 »

Hello!

New to the AAPK forums. I would like to purchase a NIB (or as close to that condition as possible) Camillus #66 Stockman pocket knife. It appears the handles came in either a smooth ivory or a slightly textured ivory. I am interested in one with the smooth ivory handles.

Kind Regards,

Mike

Welcome to AAPK, Mike. Glad to have you aboard.

When you say "Ivory", if you mean genuine Ivory, the Camillus #66 never used that handle material. The older ones used a material Camillus called Pyroxylin (if I'm not sadly mistaken, that was another name for Celluloid). Towards the end of the life of the pattern, about 1980, they used white Delrin®.

I don't want to discourage you in your quest for one that's very close to factory condition but I have a sneaking suspicion you have a long hard hunt in store for you. Of course, one could pop up at any time. Good luck.

Edit: BTW there are several on eBay.

There's five or six on Ebay right now...although they don't look factory new.

Hi Jerry & Doc!

Thanks for the "Welcome!" I did look at the ones on eBay and to these tire old eyes, it looked liked the handles and some type of texture to them. I had thought the handles were smooth and "ivory-like" in color? Thanks for the information. I searched the AAPK seller forum and eBay. I guess I'll keep searching or hope one pops up here.

Thanks!

Mike
