new Boker Trench knife

Post by Gr8Scout »

I like long, slender knife for the same reasons I mention for my tastes in boot knives in another thread. Here is my latest, and I think it fits the definition of tactical, or at least it did 90 years ago when it was a fixture in the German trenches of WW1. A Boker made repro of the knife they made way back when. The Boker site doesn't have the info up yet, but AGRussell does:

It's a single edge, which means I can carry it legally in Michigan, and intend to while exploring and hunting the wilder places of my state. I didn't like the original type sheath, but I did want the wood handled, non-serrated copy of the knife. So I bought that one and had Boker send me the black sheath.

Street price is more like $110 for the wood, $130 for the micarta handled job. I like the carbon steel... one of the few knives of this design I have been able to get scary sharp.

Seeing as how the serial number of my knife is 1898, here I photoed it with an old mauser. I have an affinity for old shooters as well as old stabbers.

Very nice Phil...and carbon steel as well.

I'd say that you'll be quite well prepared. ::tu::

I don't have very good manners... I neglected to look at our hosts' site, AAPKblades.com for these knives. And there they are, at an excellent price.
